Hello teletech....if you thinking of replacing the hub and tracta seals look on youtube.....daimler ferret scout car hub seal replacement....the guy is a brit with a a un white painted mk.2....just a few videos but very nice....and dont worry about replacing the grease zerks.....ha ha.....best...
The canadian eme manual instructions for stowage bins are all dated oct. 65.....when they switched to the 1919.....also i dont have any lists for the unef 2 ferrets or the ones sent to germany for nato exersises..yours may have been in there somewhere...
Captain stevens has a wealth of info on the ferrets....he also sent me copies of war diaries from egypt and cyprus...some pages list car numbers of ferrets that were there.....
Hey teletech....its hard to tell what you may find under the powerpack....ive found a brass lock...a points set...pens...coins...wrenches.....handful of nuts ..bolts..washers.....plus all the links and spent cases....a real treasure hunt!!! Good luck!!!
Well heres what the bead spreader looks like....a bit of a chore to remove and looks like a nightmare to reinstall....but someone may know an easy trick or two.....???
Hi teletech...i have replaced two tubes in mine...i just used truck tubes of the proper size and the thin flaps....the hard part was removing the bead spreader.....i did not even try to get them back in....all has been fine for years.....

Its just one more thing to think about....the exhaust heats up the intake.....the fuel these days with alcohol....or what ever in it might not do well with the heat....but just a thought....love hearing from you and wish i could do half the stuff you do...cheers mate.....David
Hi Johan.....yes a fuel pressure gauge sounds like a great idea for your electric pump set up......i dont know if your manifolds are the same as mind but the front exhaust manifold bolts to the intake....with a pre heat flap inside controlled with a bi-metal spring...have you checked that?....if...
Yes simple....two "J" hooks with some threaded handles....the tire sets on the frame first and then lifted into place....with one hook ready....ive done it by myself...but two lads would make it a breeze.....
Johan ....mate....dont think the coil should be hot....hard start may be a vapor lock.....a hot day? The gas these days may be junk....cause a vapor lock? Im sure there are some experts ready to help.....lol.
I only could wish for a trip to meet you all...sounds like a wild time for sure...i know some other ferret owners.....would be really cool to have the ferrets together for a photo shoot.....maybe someday....
