There are a couple of M101 with white markings pics on my decal website, http://www.deltateamdecals.com/trailers.html Also those locations work for the M105's from that time period as well. I have one in original markings.
The 2 major players in parts for these trucks is Memphis Equipment and Vintage Powerwagons, but there are a ton of small vendors that have various items and ebay is often helpful on finding some of the odd parts. Being a M-series vehicle, means that there are several common parts that are the...
For US ARMY markings, the hood markings changed in 1968 in that the format changed to include the year the vehicle was accepted into the Army on the end. An example of a 68' marking for a deuce would be 04A00168. This would be the first class 4 vehicle accepted by the Army for 1968. The A and...
The M715 bows are curved and more like the bows on a M35 than the M37. The corners are more rounded and don't go to a full 90 degrees, this accounts for the curve of the bow.
Also be aware that the M37 has a pretty narrow engine compartment which makes swapping bigger engines a bit more difficult that most other vehicles. There are a lot of engineering obstacles to over come to try and shoe horn a big 440 in there.
The easiest way to tell a difference is in the bow corners. M37' and M101 trailer bows have an 90 degree bow corner where the M715 and other vehicles like the M35's have a more rounded bow corner that doesn't go quite a full 90 degrees.
No they are not tied to the vin in anyway and once lost they are gone. The M715 had two different styles of hood registration numbers depending on the year they were produced. 67' trucks had the older style of marking looking like this 3A 0001. The 3 indicates the vehicles vehicle class. This...
Black lettering and square periods tell me that these are more than likely not original marking for this vehicle. What year M37 is it? As that will make all the difference as to weather these are legit numbers.
The markings are the same sizes as the markings on M35's and other trucks of the era. The only difference is in the tire pressure marking numbers being higher for the 5 ton's. If you need some help figuring out the markings you can contact me trough my markings website, www.deltateamdecals.com...
Unfortunately they are not the same as the older J-trucks. They can be made to fit but the radiator support has to be moved. The M725 is the same radiator as the more common M715, but even then finding a new one will be next to impossible. Post up that you are looking for one in the wanted parts...
I have always had fun at this show, but it always seams to fall on a bad weekend for me. This year we have guests from out of state visiting and I don't think the wife would have like it if I snuck off for a few hours to go to the show.
I'm big and ugly and hard to miss once you know me. Ha Ha. The funny thing was Bob from Military Collectors TV was like, "I expected you to be older" which is funny because being in my mid 40's, at times I do feel young at these shows. Which is why I feel the decline is happening, the older...
Yep I saw you guys and was going to say hello when you where over by our stuff but everytime I was either talking with someone or you guys were talking with someone. Oh well till the next time.
Had a pretty good show. I had my 67' M715 there and my buddy brought his 52' M37 down. I had the opportunity to film a segment on military markings with Bob Redfern for Military Collectors TV and I wandered around a bought all kinds of goodies. Including a propane sim fire kit for my Ma Deuce...
The M715 headed north on 65 would have been most likely me as we headed up 65 to Indy and then up 31 all the way home to Michigan. I was traveling with a buddy who was pulling his M37 also.
You can always check this marking site out, http://www.deltateamdecals.comhttp://www.deltateamdecals.com They offer in both decal sets and paint mask sets and will make custom kits to fit the buyers needs.
Yep, I have everything booked and will be bringing down my M715 and my buddy is bringing his M37 for display. I'll be wandering through all the vendors trying to figure out what items I just can't live without!
Yes the little round light is the blackout rear brake light and will only come on when the 3 lever light switch is in the blackout position. It takes a regular 24v single element bulb, the same as the other blackout markers and the parking light bulb. The bulb is a 1683 and can be found...
