Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately I haven't made those radio adapters in years. The ones I've made recently are for connecting cellphones to the intercom system via Bluetooth.

All of the adapters are spoken for and all have shipped. Thanks everyone for participating.
Here are instructions for how to use them:
This adapter allows you to make calls and hear music, navigation, etc through your VIC-3 headset by connecting to your phone using Bluetooth. Your phone is...
The new run of boxes is complete. I'll send messages to everyone who as expressed interest with information on what to do next.
Thanks for all of your support!

My understanding is there was an airlift weight requirement that was painful to hit. For example that's why they have custom aluminum rims. I wonder if LM is building the whole chassis so they can omit unnecessary weight from the get go rather than have to strip it out later.

I have ordered parts to make another run of boxes. These are only for VIC-3 and they connect a cellphone to the intercom system via bluetooth. More info here: https://forums.g503.com/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=321617&p=1937384#p1937384

Hi everyone,
I've got enough interest now that I'm looking into a way around the part shortage. I may have to do a small redesign of the circuit board. If you still want one please PM me.
Thanks,

What exactly is the scenario you are planning for?
The army doesn't generally armor the engine compartment. The idea is to protect the crew. The vehicle itself is expendable. To armor the engine compartment you probably end up in the weight range of a tank anyway.
They are generally operating...
3-speed trucks all have 2.56's. It needs all of it to get you going 55mph.
If you've got a 4-speed then 2.73 is the way to go. The extra advantage and slightly increased RPM of the engine at 55-65 mph make the truck much nicer to drive. You don't have to constantly mash the pedal to maintain a...
Sorry, these were all gone years ago and unfortunately nobody else has asked for one since so I doubt I'll be making any more. I need to make at least 20 at a time.

Try improving the grounding. I ran a big flat ground braid from one of the feet of the main control box back to the battery and it reduced the whine significantly.

You need a VIC3 intercom system to use those headsets. FYI The headsets represent about about 1/5 to 1/8 of the cost of the entire system.

I have a new box in the works with bluetooth...

The VIC 1 probably draws an amp or two and the VRC 64 might draw 3 or 4 max.
You can easily get a 12 to 24 DC/DC power supply with a 10A output but my guess is you could get away with a 5A output.
It's pretty straight forward to power the radios off that. I wouldn't trust the commercial...
Hi Bill,
You are correct, you will not get the full functionality. It's a limitation of the VIC 1 system and my adapter box.
With a VIC 3 it works fine along side the radio.
