I've got the first unit built and ready for test. The remaining boards are waiting to be installed in the boxes.
I won't get to it this weekend though. Maybe some time next week.

Great radio setup. I don't have as much space on the hmmwv rack, so I only get to pick two. Right now an RT246 for VHF LO and GRC213 for HF.
The 24v spotlight on the weapons station is a gas though... I power it directly from the slave recepticle.

There is a document from Cobham that describes about 10 different interface boxes that can be added into the system to do various things, however I don't think many of them exist in any quantity. The retrans box is kinda cool. It supposedly allows you to pick any two of the six connected radios...
All,
Parts are starting to arrive and I'll begin assembly in a week or two. It will take me a couple of weeks to build the whole run in my spare time.
This first batch is 20 units. Originally I was going to do only 10, but with the strong response and better parts pricing in bulk I upped it to...
Is there a separate wire harness for the solenoids? Hook the motor with the fat cable to the 24v system (generally they go to the positive lug on the starter) and use 12v from the top of the lower battery to drive the 12v solenoids. They will all share the common ground.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It looks like there are enough interested for me to go through with making them. I won't collect money until I have them built, so check back in a month or two.
Chickenbutt: I don't have a VIC-1 anymore so I can't remember the exact port. The cable is correct...
Jake: Yes, you are correct.
There is a standard cable to connect between the side of the VIC-3 control station and any VRC radio that you would have to buy. CX-13473 or CX-13489 -> either part number will work. This cable has a 6 pin connector for the VIC-3 side and an 18 pin connector for the...
Hi All,
Is anyone interested in connecting their cellphones to to their VIC-1 or VIC-3 systems?
For my own use I've designed and built a transformer isolated impedance matching box that allows me to connect my phone to any of the radio ports on the VIC-1 or VIC-3 systems. The VIC treats the...
The short answer is "no".
There are so many applications that use so many different kinds of connectors that I imagine it would be difficult to enforce a standard.
I've seen 3 pin connectors with power on A and ground on B, power on A and ground on C, power on C and ground on A...

The A2 pedal looks way different, but the hole for the linkage for the brake light switch is in the same location in space so you'll do a lot of work for nothing. I don't know why they redesigned it. Maybe to make it cheaper?
Try lengthening the slots to move the switch around. Or maybe you...
If you are talking about crossing the border into Mexico you should look up their policies about military vehicles. My understanding is that you will not be allowed to cross with a vehicle painted military colors. 3-color camo would be obvious, but maybe you can skirt by with sand since it's a...
Have you read my trans swap post? It's a sticky at the top of this section. It has the TPS p/n and even a picture.
I don't believe the eBay speed sensors will work, but you can try. I can't remember how to tell the difference. I think a 94 H1 had the sensor you need also. Check the parts book...
The 6.5NA in your truck is a direct drop in replacement for the 6.2L engine. Doing the trans swap is identical, except you will be a step ahead in that the engine speed sensor bung should already be on the engine, which saves a lot of work trying to put the 6.5L housing on the 6.2L engine.

Hmmm... There is some good information and a bit of mis-information above...
The TPS is located on the injection pump, but the 6.5 turbo pump has a smaller throttle shaft than the 6.2/6.5 NA pumps. The military turbo TPS will not fit onto the NA shaft, but the civilian TPS will. The TPS's are...
I used an A/C compressor ands it's been going strong for years. I can fill a tire in under 2 minutes, just like having shop air. If I set the engine at 1000 or 1200 rpm idle it never drops below 80 psi even when I'm using a ton of air. Way better than electric.
This post below is old so it...
Yeah Plan B sucks. I got to look at one up close in person and they used self tapping sheet metal screws to hold everything together.
If you ever get to look at one, look at the roof where it joins the windshield frame on either side of the truck. They ran a long bolt through the frame with a...
