I think the M50s are the same but in M49 tankers, they are either mild steel or stainless and if that one was a fuel truck, it'd be mild steel. The early trucks have cut out wheel wells for the rear bogie and are mild steel. The later trucks, M49A2C, are stainless and have straight bed sides.

Has any one here actually run both trucks? I had an M62 and a M62A2. I like my M816 and have a M936 coming in. Winslow says I'll hate the M936. Another guy I know who has owned and worked every wrecker version hates his M936. Guess I'll find out.
