So I’m ready to install the new a/c hose. It runs over top of the transmission and transfer case (basically attached to the tunnel) - edit: it’s done! Was able to snake it through without too much trouble. Well, it didn’t go easy, but it’s in. Now waiting in the new drier and then I can see if...
To piggyback on Mogmans suggestion, are you certain the transmission is shifting at all? I went through this with an A2 4 speed truck - limp mode starts in 2nd gear and won’t shift at all. Basics - manually shift first to second. I bet you aren’t getting power to the TCM, it’s common.
I buy all my maintenance products like these from MAC to make sure I’m getting real parts.
Project is done, starts instantly now. This truck went through IROAN in 2016 so it’s in good shape, at some point got a new TSU and start box, glow plugs weren’t bad looking - going to test the old ones...
Yeah, I thought I’ll go out this morning and change the glow plugs out, shouldn’t be too difficult. No. Just no on the right side. I feel like this is what happens when you keep adding more and more features but don’t reengineer the simple basic maintenance items. Pretty much seems like I have...
Update - pulled the hose out (in 2 pieces), you nailed it. It actually bolted to a connector near the front evaporator as stated, not directly to the compressor like I thought. I’m gonna have to lift the body to get it back where it was…..
I recently bought an 1151 and my sf97 status never updated - an sf97 just showed up in the mail. It took nearly 3 months to get the sf97, so you don’t need to worry yet. I’ve bought Army and Marine Corp trucks, Marine Corp definitely takes longer. You can call the customer service hotline and...
I thought so, but if you look up the hose it’s short and runs to a connector, also shows a red high side cap - this one runs from the condenser to the evaporator inside the truck (notice the parts manual doesn’t have the other numbered). I’m going to pull if off and have one made, seems like the...
Thanks. My neighbor suggested having it repaired. Plenty of hydraulic hose type repair shops in this area. Regardless I guess I’ll plan on removing it and finding the part number that way.
Spent time today tracking down my a/c leak - more like huge hole. Exhaust burned the a/c line completely through - anyway, I’ve spent the last hour or more pouring through TM’s and no luck getting the correct hose part number. Is there a special TM for revb a/c? I found the supposed correct part...
Welcome to the surplus HMMWV hobby. I’m newer at this, on my 3rd now - I can tell you for sure that the outflow of money for finding new things missing is just beginning. But the guys here are super helpful. My advice from mistakes made, don’t try to cheap out on components - a lot of fake...
I had a similar experience - after confirming the wires are correctly connected at the battery, the relay behind the commander seat (on the same panel as the resettable fuse) needs to have 12v in. On my truck the relay was bad causing the exact same symptoms you are having. The TM (and Michael...
Spent time purging air from my p/s system. Truck has a noticeable humming sound inside that seems to be coming from the brake booster, so was hoping it would fix it. No luck, but now I know the air is purged. Pump isn’t noisy.
Look at that auction - spray paint over the auction stickers. They spend time trying to make the good ones run from what I’m told (reliable sources). I’m no expert but don’t believe your lying eyes on this one. There are some really nice trucks sometimes, but the devil is in the details. Keep...
LOL. That sir, in my opinion, is a ragged junkbox rattle canned at gov planet to pretend to be pretty. In my estimation the motor is in its sunset days with 20 psi of oil pressure. I guess if you’ve never bought an auction truck you might’ve led to believe that.
