Well, yeah. But, I found not much about the possibilities of the m116a3 and the s-250. both of these are available right now near me on CL/FB. or if there are other trailer/shelter combos I should consider.
I like the m116 due to it's lower overall height compared to the m1101... Anyone know...
Here's what i'm looking at:
Both are near me from two different sellers, trailer for 750, shelter for 1500. All of the nearby m1101/2 trailers are three or more times as expensive.
If I can mate the two up I'd have a decent camp/overlanding setup that's tough and around 1400 pounds dry.

For summer camping I'd really like to have the insulation to make A/C an easier option. I have an extensive solar setup I can drop in and an available mini split hvac unit. If it's well insulated, I might be able to run the A/C some or all day on solar/battery power.

I've been looking at either a rugged off-road camper or a simple cargo trailer.
A cargo trailer would simply let us...
I keep mine in a giant metal building.... but it's not very cost effective. ;-)
I think I'd try to build some simple plywood boxes to just slip over the tires.
A few things:
It's actually the military winch, but off a 5 ton, so it has a higher rating that then 2.5 ton version 18k, I think.
In the specs for the winch (Made by D&P IIRC) it actually specifies the rating is on the first layer (rated like a civilian winch).
I based the line off that...
Yeah, I didn't say it went well. I broke about a hundred feet off the end of my speedy 500 foot synthetic line, which left the tree, which had been mostly cut, standing there leaning towards the shop. I had to quickly string together some straps, get the wife in the truck to put some tension on...

Locking the front axle causes a lack of steering input when turning on ice/snow. Basically because one wheel travels farther than the other during turns, if they are locked, one will always slip on the ice, once it breaks free, you (usually) just keep going straight. Obviously it's not a cut and...
