@Mad Texan Thank you for the info sir. Where do you have that hooked up exactly? It’s a bit difficult to tell in the pictures.

@adf5565 Thank you for the info., that’s too bad yet still good to know! It seems the Blade Type of Switch may be the best option.

@vanaisa I’m thinking of putting quick release disconnect battery terminals onto the Neg Post of each of the 2 batteries. It seems to be the sure and safest way. Or, I’ll just leave it as is and disconnect the batteries normally. If it the existing clamps wear out again, I’ll replace the cable...
@87cr250r I’m going to take a few photos to show how and what is hooked up to my two batteries.
Let’s see if I have 12v Loads into the Rear Battery.

@cucvrus I’m terrified of frying anything, as mentioned above in the screen shot I shared! I’m thinking if I use a clamp on both batteries it would be over cautious, but still ok?

@cucvrus There you are! With that in mind, should I just put one of these clamps on the Ground Post for each battery? Disconnect them when working on the vehicle. Would that be safe?

I am 14 years late to the creation of this post. Still, I have a small amount of input to add.
According to John, at Hillbilly Wizard, they sell New Fuel Filter Assemblies that have a plugged hole. He says there is no issue with leaks with the part they sell. It’s not cheap, but mine seems to...
@cucvrus @Warthog @doghead Would you have any input?
Could I just attach one of these to the Ground on each of the two batteries? Disconnecting the Grounds as a way to prevent any damage?

I’ve noticed my battery lugs are getting worn from connecting and disconnecting them from the batteries for my CUCV M1009. I already replaced them once.
Is it ok to use a Battery Disconnect Switch for when I’m working on my vehicle? This would be an effort to prevent wearing out my Battery...
@87cr250r I could do that. The thing is, I don’t know if the plug was where the leak was coming from or if the leak just worked it’s way to the drain plug area. It would really suck to put the old one back in with the new drain plug, only to find it still leaking. Then again that could fix it...
@87cr250r I had a leak. I stripped the Drain Plug while trying to fix it, I was unable to find any replacements parts, including a new drain plug. So I just ordered a whole new housing.

The old Fuel Filter Assembly/Housing for my CUCV M1009 has a Round Sensor near the middle. The new part doesn’t have that Round Sensor.
*I’ve been told it’s not needed, that sensor is for Fuel Pressure used with the Diagnostic System exclusive to the Military editions of the blazer.
The...
@Valor thank for the good input and advice sir! Yes it will crank but not start. I had a feeling it had something to do with air in the system.

I need some help and advice asap.
I noticed fuel was leaking from the bottom hose of my fuel filter. I removed the Top and Bottom Valves, No. 5 & 17 on the chart, there didn’t seem to be any Seals for either valve. According to the TM they’re should be seals, No. 4 on the chart.
I...
@nyoffroad I can’t see much of anything, I suspect I’d have to take the filter out. I’m thinking the o-ring/seal on the bottom is going bad. I haven’t found it anywhere.

I noticed the outside of the drain hose is wet. It’s the hose that is located at the bottom of the Fuel Filter. Nothing seems to be loose, I checked. I still have the stock filter installed.
Any ideas what might cause it to leak?
I’m thinking it could be these seals that go with the valves...
