I love my 831A too. It is at my camp and runs like a champ. After all the bugs I had to work through to get it running well though in the back of my mind I feel something is likely to fail at some point. It is like a high strung race horse and I just don't trust which way it is going to go.
I...
Hi, I thought I had my fuel level problems solved but yesterday it acted up again. I tried to force my arm into the tank via the filler hole to feel where the float was but after losing some skin I realized that it just wasn't going to happen. I prefer to think of my arms as muscular but I guess...
If you ever want to visit there will be free beer[the good stuff], food and lodging. My farm is an hour north of Pearson international airport [Toronto] and it's a 2 1/2 hour drive north to my camp. We are the same vintage and I remember the good old days. I used to go over the border to...
Any time you guys want to visit I will show you some real Canadian hospitality. Just let me know when. Guyfang I only drink European beer. My favourites are Spaten and Faxe but I'm sure you could introduce me to many others.
Here is a shot of the vent in the floor of the enclosure. So far with the vent in the floor plus the upper screened vents it hasn't overheated with the doors closed. Also I would have preferred to hard wire the generator panel but I happened to have this one on hand and it has a short extension...
Hi, I just wanted to show what I have done with my 831A and 803A. I want to thank everyone who has offered advice particularly Guyfang, DieselAddict, Dwnorton1, Daybreak, Dewie38 and many others. My 803A is installed at my house and runs great. It allows us to operate as normal with a bit of...
Sorry i should have updated my post. I got the NSN wrong. It is definitely for an 804 with the the metal shaft. A great deal if you have an 804 but it won't work for an 802A.
Well again I learned something new. I thought the contacts were internal rotary contacts and couldn't be accessed directly and could only be cleaned with contact cleaner.
The oil screen on the 2nd machine was totally clogged with crap that looked like ground up kleenex. I had to change the oil 4 or 5 times before I got rid of it. The engine only had 7 hours on it. If it sat for a long time would this account for the goo buidup? Thanks.
I totally agree. One of my 831a's will run 2-1500 watt heaters plus a skillsaw. The other one does 3 kw no problem but bogs down if I go any higher.
I had problems with surging and black smoke and tried to adjust the controller for days on the 2nd unit. I got it to run OK but had continuing...
It will be great when you are back home and have more time Chris. Are you still working on the final edition of a colored schematic and maybe an 831a controller?
I bought a new assembly and just used the bowl. It was a while ago but it seems to me the filter that came with it had a filter that was coarser than OEM so I bought separate filter canisters. They weren't that expensive. Search Parker Racor 12T on Ebay.
i have never had a problem uploading photos from my computer but now all of a sudden i don't get the computer option just the URL option. Any advice. Thanks
