    MEP-8xx S1 and S6 switch variations

H Hi Guyfang, As you sometimes say "Google can be your best friend". I finally found a link tying NSN 5930015312975 to the 804A. It will not work with an 803A though. Thanks again for all your help. Ted

    MEP-8xx S1 and S6 switch variations

Thanks Guyfang, that does clear it up. I was under the mistaken impression that if the part with that NSN was used in other equipment the UOC column would list what other units also used it. The 804A and 803A TM's had the same correct # listed but the one that was for sale as a 804a switch had...

    MEP-8xx S1 and S6 switch variations

Guyfang I think I have read all your generator posts. With your help plus other contributors I am now fairly comfortable with the TM's. I now even know what the cage code is. The one thing I am still having trouble with is "usable on code". Specifically I am buying spare parts for my MEP 803A...

MEP 831 FAQ for owners or potential buyers

Just an update. I received a replacement speed controller from GAC with a note that said they couldn't find anything wrong with the original but as a courtesy they were sending a replacement. I installed it and 2 minutes later it was set to specs and running like a champ. It was so nice to have...

    Homemade Load Bank

I have 2 "milk house heaters" that I assume are similar to garage heaters. They are 4500W each. I hooked them up plus a couple of 1500 W baseboard heaters. My 803A was quite happy with that amount of load.

    MEP-802a & 803a

Guyfang you have amazing knowledge. Sorry to hijack the thread but would you mind telling me which switch I have and how to differentiate them? Thanks. Ted

I would think MEP-80x parts are coming

The double stacked 803A's are starting to show up on GL. They are definitely parts machines. Pretty rough looking and grouped in 2's and 3's.

Thanks buddy I will keep that in mind I appreciate the offer. Dwnorton1 was generous enough to supply me with one.

MEP 802A No Fuel Fault Shutdown

You might want to check the big auction site. I wouldn't be surprised if you found a NOS sending unit for about $30 right now. For that amount I wouldn't waste time fiddling with a suspect sender that could fail at any time.

    Fort Drum GL Chaos

Chris, I know I will never buy from Fort Drum until things change. But after picking up 3 lots from Lockbourne I was really impressed with their operation. Lockbourne is 2 hours further for me compared to Drum but it is worth the drive even though it is not as scenic. The frustrating thing for...

MEP 831 FAQ for owners or potential buyers

Yah I agree. Both of the controllers I had problems with were pretty chewed up too. The speed screw on all of the controllers I have, even the good ones, don't seem to have a stop on either end of the adjusting range. I worry about turning it too far either way but I assume if it was working...

MEP 831 FAQ for owners or potential buyers

Hi Delbert, I called GAC. I was transferred to Dave and he says it sounds like it is defective. He had me send them an email requesting an RMA authorization [return authorization]. I don't think there will be a problem it looks like the warranty is for 2 years. Very nice people!

I wasn't able to get in touch with GAC today. I will try again tomorrow and let you know.

    Fort Drum GL Chaos

I just received a reply to my Govliquidation Email I sent a few weeks ago in which I sent a link to this thread. Maybe they are listening. Dear Mr _____ Thank you for your e-mail. We appreciate the feedback. These comments allow us to improve our processes where possible. We appreciate your...

MEP 831 FAQ for owners or potential buyers

Well another tale of woe. My original controller was dialed in so it idled at 176VAC and was at 196VAC [A-B] when load was applied. It worked fine for awhile until it started surging. So I installed a new $341 controller and fired up the generator. It ran at no load with the target spacing at...

    Fort Drum GL Chaos

GL is very hard to contact for complaints. The posted phone number gets you through to people who have no authority. They tell you to send an Email to info@govliquidation.com if you want to contact management. I have sent them numerous Emails detailing my experience at Fort Drum. I have also...

    Fort Drum GL Chaos

If I was an American citizen believe me I would be raising caine. I am semi retired with lots of time on my hands [which is why I got into generators in the first place] and I would drive GL crazy with complaints to my local politicians and any other authorities I could think of. Since I am a...
