Power Driven Diesel Air Filter Restrictive?

Does anyone have a way to look up donaldson filters by size? These look like they'd be worth a shot. https://www.donaldson.com/en-us/engine/filters/products/air-intake/replacement-filters/donaldson-blue-filters/ I'm going to try calling their customer service line to see if they can look them...

Power Driven Diesel Air Filter Restrictive?

So I tried without the filter housing, and it seemed to help, though i was only getting ~10-11 psi vs usually I can hit 12-13, but egts didn't seem awful. So I cut the bottom of the filter housing out, and it seemed good for about the first 90 miles (I cleaned the filter too FWIW) but then I...

Power Driven Diesel Air Filter Restrictive?

Awesome, I'll report back when I get a chance to try it out.

Power Driven Diesel Air Filter Restrictive?

I'll try running without the can and see what it does, I'm guessing you're right though. If that works then I'll cut out the hump. Are you using the 7" or 9" filter? Either way it really doesn't seem possible that the multi can out flow the 7" one that I have.

Power Driven Diesel Air Filter Restrictive?

Probably a long shot on this, but any updates on the test? I also tried this filter initially it seemed to work alright but after driving ~ 30 miles egts started to climb, boost dropped, and I triggered the air filter indicator. The 5.9 should definitely pull more air, so I'm surprised i had...

    M35A2 Transmission Fluid Change

Yeah I'm not so concerned about draining and replacing, but I don't have anything to filter to burn it. So then I'm just stuck with more waste oil sitting around lol. Small problem though. I'll give it a shot and report back.

    M35A2 Transmission Fluid Change

Haha I'm hearing ya. My main concern is the pour point of the sae 40, but i suppose if its double digit negative i can just slap some pan heaters on the trans and tcase.

    M35A2 Transmission Fluid Change

I'm a little worried how that would work when its below zero haha. Based off the the chart posted on page 1 75 or 80w - 90 is probably my best bet for all around usefulness. Maybe I'll see if bomgaars will take the 40 sae back without a receipt.

    M35A2 Transmission Fluid Change

I guess that's a fair point.. I didn't keep the receipt so i guess i may as well try it in the trans. Tcase i might just go straight to 75/90.

    M35A2 Transmission Fluid Change

My trans has 80/90 in it now, I'm leaning towards sticking with that or going 75/90 for better winter shifting. It shifts fine now, aside from being sluggish in the cold. I thought the viscosity was lower on the SAE 40 when i bought it, but after finding this thread and researching more mfg...

    M35A2 Transmission Fluid Change

Well i bought SAE 40 ND last week planning to change my transmission and tcase fluid to it, but after finding this thread I'm not so sure. Anyone else have more input on the topic?

    Got another Deuce! ('70)

Not sure how much of a difference the rockers would make, but I swapped to one of the 4le-354s and it hurt the low end performance, it was just too big for a "stock" LDT (I do have the pump turned up). When cruising around at 2000 rpm it did alright, but really my 3ld-305 does just as well. I'm...

    Deuce startup!

Looks like a M54, not sure if that flatbed is something stock though.

    Truck-Lite Route Clearance Lights Installed

I picked a pair of these in the spot variation to go along with the flood version that I already had. They are bright and hold a nice beam, the tree line in the picture below is ~150 yards away. The first picture is the low beams for comparison.

    Bypassing the FDC

^ And an EGT gauge, definitely worth bypassing it.

Noise levels in cab after installing DynaMat

Probably about the same stuff I'd imagine. I'm not sure if there is a better way to cut it, but I used a sawzall which didn't work all that well in my opinion.

Noise levels in cab after installing DynaMat

I put 5/8" rubber mat meant for livestock trailers on my floor and that seemed to help a lot. I still need to get some lighter stuff to put on the firewall though.

Oh yes definitely, I find myself making excuses to start it up and do something. They're also a lot of fun to work on.
