Check the Amp Research Steps. I have these on my Pickup. Was going to do something similar I think. Although I do like that Thule concept better.

Elasticity and elongation of similar match would be preferable. I am not sure Liquid nails or Loctite would stand up to all the flexing and might introduce failure over time. Not in stock per say; but delivery early September. There's Sikaflex521...
Just to close this thread.... when making a video: I accidentally closed the door and when I tried the cylinder; It absolutely Locked up solid as steel.
Apparently that was all it took. I had the door open when "Testing" the cylinders.
My ignorance was the enemy here. All good now.
I am going to quote @Ronmar from another post on the Oil line:
Begin QUOTE:
There is a metallic oil line between the drivers side of the cylinder head and the back side of the governor. It is looped out like a diving board and it can oscillate, work-harden and break if the truck has a lot of...
Don't forget the Compressor, Starter and Fan all need to be checked to make sure bolts are tight with Nordlock washers or guaranteed sorrow is in your future. The price of neglect is costly replacement starter, a destroyed radiator or a cracked block. Then there is the oil line of death. These...
I think a secondary fuel guage would be essential. An outdoor temperature guage would be good to have too. If you could do indoor/outdoor/EGT/Motor temp even better.
I got in and replaced one cylinder as the Old owner told me he had two new cylinders and keys. I had the old one out and the new one half in before I noticed they were the same numbered cylinders. After installing I had the benefit to "assist" the driver side to loosen it up until I could get it...
Anybody else have the problem on your A1R; if you lock the door and work the handle the mechanism will slip and unlock? I can post a video I guess, but it doesn't stay up and block the handle, it slides down over time and thus can be defeated. Not sure if the parts are worn or if there is...
Ah gotcha. I would think if it's the Hab rocking on it's mounting, then stiffer springs would suffice. If that's what you are getting at. How is your mounted, direct or does it have some sorta tortion cradle?
I seem to change my mind every month. I was going to do a slide out patio from under... then nixed it. Was going to make the Hab removable, then like you I thought nah.... probably more trouble than it's worth. I was going to do a box from RVGlobetrekkers, then considered getting a gov Shelter...
Agree. I want to incorporate one of these drive away awnings/rooms that can be set up and left as a base camp of sorts if need be. Longer stays and even a rain room for gloomy weather and you want to spread out a bit...
I love this concept. A little pricey but isn't that the nature of this journey....

I have been mulling over building a tool box that houses something like the above. With some sort of quick connect for water...
Heck yeah. I dig it. You got me thinking... I am going to make a Moto carrier... I might put an outdoor tank on it with fold down/out kitchen... but no matter what will put an outdoor shower head like yours tied to the habitat water tank. The fact about cleaning fish is no joke when boondocking...
