    Flu419 loader to fit a u500

Search for Anbauplate claw. For me the first result is the post on Benzworld saying where to get them. I am not allowed to link to an eBay auction, so you will need to go to eBay, find the FLU for sale with the loader adapter and contact that seller. Flu Farm made a post detailing his adapter...

    Flu419 loader to fit a u500

Persistence pays off! They are apparently called Anbauplate claw, there is a post on Benzworld talking about where to get them and the styles. I have the attachment points that bolted to the frame of the FLU if that helps. Regarding the skid steer attachment, there is a company in Lena WI...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Ideally it would be in float, but that valve doesn’t have a float setting. I think(and someone can correct me) that you will want the valve in the opposite of the position it would be in to actually put the backhoe in the operating position. That way the piston end of the cylinder is drawing...

Use a come along or winch to a high point on a tree. Soldier A pulls the level to the implement Raise position while Soldier B winches. Go slowly because of the restriction in the circuit. The advantage of this over cracking the lines is you are not introducing air into the system, so by...

    SEE/FLU419 accessories

Update on 2 of the projects. I test fit the 3/8" stainless steel line and verified it fit and did not leak. Then I became aware of another tubing mfg around me that could make a tube out of 10mm, the same as original. I contacted them to get a prototype, but it is more than double the cost of...

    Unimog Tires 20" rims. 12.5 r20

What is the rubbing you keep talking about? My tires rub on the fenders and/or step because they are 43” in diameter. The spacers were 12.7mm and only needed for those particular rims to clear the caliper on the rear. I run those rims for additional track width and the stability it provides. I...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Some(most) hate the Mercedes fuel line. I happened across the correct Mercedes tool on CL some years back, and I love it now. I have a healthy assortment of fittings and just replace the line with new clear line whenever needed. I get the line and fittings from Belmetric. When I remove the old...

    SEE/FLU419 accessories

I got around to installing my SS air line prototype today and found it is much easier than expected. I need to make a slight tweak before ordering the next batch, but should have that done next week. For removal you need 19mm(3/4”) & 22mm(7/8”) wrenches. I really like the vice grip V-Jaw for...

Have you heard of Fretting corrosion? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fretting It is caused by relative motion between parts and is a major source of fatigue failure. It generally leaves telltale reddish rust powder. I was under my FLU replacing my air line and noticed the large front bolts...

    Unimog Tires 20" rims. 12.5 r20

Yeah, those look like the ones I have. I wish I had bought a spare when they were available. I had to get spacers laser cut to clear the brake caliper. I would love to find longer studs because the nuts are flush with the end of the studs with the 12.7mm spacer.

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Did you clean the prescreen along the frame rail? After you replaced the filters, were you able to prime the air from the bleeder screw without much trouble? Draining the fuel and starting with fresh is going to be a cheap method to start troubleshooting. You can also verify when looking at it...

    Unimog Tires 20" rims. 12.5 r20

There was a member on here from Louisiana, Profo? That was running 365/80R20(14.5R20) on the stock rims, and Alpine44 in Georgia is as well(I think it was mentioned previously in this thread). I went to the Drum rims for stability, not clearance.

    Unimog Tires 20" rims. 12.5 r20

They are rims off a South African mine sweeper. They are dimensionally similar to the Unimog Drum brake rims, but they do not clear the rear brake calipers without a 12.7mm spacer. They came with 12.5R20 “Sand Trail” tires that I sold separately. I bought a set of 8 and just recently sold the...

Using my SEE for real work

I was seriously at risk of violating my door placard prohibiting moronic operations, but I carried a vehicle lift to the hydraulic repair shop to get a cylinder resealed. This is the type of activity I would accuse other people of being reckless, irresponsible, and clubbing baby seals. I’ll try...

Soon to be a new FLU419 owner (maybe)

Those manuals are a good reference, but the FLU’s are a unique beast, with the air shifted 16speed transmission in the old round headlight cab. Double check critical torque values with the military manuals. I was looking on the Case online parts catalog and there are small differences between...

    Unimog Tires 20" rims. 12.5 r20

I ran the 14.5R20’s for a year, then got a set of 380/75R20(14.5R20) Ag tread tires I mounted. With the bigger tires, it is slower to accelerate, but has greater flotation. I have not been in a situation where I tested the flotation to say how much better. I would occasionally get rubbing, when...
