    BIG TRUCK

That thing is huge! I've seen pictures of them in magazines and on Mail Call, but putting Hannah next to one or a HUMMVW for scale makes a big difference. For reference, most civilian semi-tractors are classed as 5 tons.

    Mirror wanted

WCJIV-How much do you want for your west-coast mirrors? Will you ship? I have an incomplete set and I haven't seen anyone selling them affordably.

    Mystery Bracket

My deuce had one of these brackets too, I didn't know what it was for until now. Now I really have to have one of the bottles, I've done a lot of research on decon foams.

    Mystery Bracket

The decon agent contained in the bottle pictured is DF-200. It was developed by Sandia National Laboratories and is manufactured and sold by Envirofoam Technologies. It is an effective and relatively environmentally friendly decontaminant. It has only been around since 2000, so that is a...

Different sized batteries in series - Is this a problem?

My experience as a former truck driver is that when one battery goes, replace the other one as well and find some other use for it. When you put a new battery with an older battery the old one will fail soon. I have seen this again and again.

    440 short block

I'm glad this came up. Yesterday I was offered the powertrain out of an old motorhome. I'm told it is a Dodge 416ci 265hp engine with auto transmission. Runs good, 35K miles. I don't have a project to put this in, but I'll bet the price is pretty right. Should I bite?

Finally got the approval to purchase my deuce!

Check out militarytrucks.com. His website badly needs to be updated, but he has acres of trucks and will build one to your specifications.

    Air Buzzer disable

The DOT does not require a warning for these trucks because they do not have air brakes. These trucks have air assisted hydraulic brakes. If they had true air brakes, than a CDL would be required even though they are under the 26000# gross weight limit. The air system is a convenience for the...

    locked up LDT 465 1D

I had a similar experience. I had a Ford 300 locked up tight. I pulled plugs and all and I determined that the engine just must be seized. I got a replacement engine, and when I pulled the old one I discovered that a tooth had broken off my flywheel and wedged in the starter bendix. I...

    Mirrors

Where did you order the mirror kit from and about what did it cost? My truck had them at one time, it still has some of the brackets, but somebody robbed the mirrors before I got it.

Well I finished up the restoration.

Yeah! Let's see some tech articles about mods we can do. 11.00X20s seem like a good start, but I'll bet there are a lot of little things that will improve economy and performance.

List of mods I have completed on my deuce

Wow! You set the bar pretty high for the rest of us. I have really enjoyed reading your articles here. I'm curious about the exhaust brake. I just became the proud owner of a deuce (see www.M715zone.com, other military vehicles, Kelser M-70 for full story). I was thinking that what the...

Yet another road trip to San Antonio.

What are you going to S A for? I'm going tomorrow to Bulverde area to pick up my deuce.

    VIN location

Is the VIN number on an M-35 anywhere on the truck except the data plate? I am working with some parts trucks that have missing data plates and I am trying to match titles. I'm told that on my M-715 the plate is the only location.

    Gauging the deuce

Where can one find this article about the highway deuce?

    Katrina photos

Great photos. Are you from there? I saw St. Bernard Parish myself a week after the storm. It was a mess.
