    803a 24volt draw

Those 50 or 60 milliamps will fully discharge a battery that size in about 42 days, assuming it's in good condition. I'm assuming the batteries have about a 50 amp-hour capacity. Something definitely seems to be drawing excessive current when the unit is off.

MEP-806 - burnt circuit board, looking for replacement

Small correction: EPROMs are programmed with electrical signals from a programmer. UV light is used to erase them.

source for upper radiator hose for MEP-803a

When I was in grade school I watched my father order some chemicals for me by phone, for a school project. I was surprised and a little proud of him when I heard him say "Hobbs Company". I learned then that one just has to supply the information the other party wants to hear. In your case...

    MEP 10kw 400Hz generator MEP-813A + MEP-1041

Actually, things like computer equipment that have switching power supplies might run fine on 400 Hz. The first thing the power supply does is rectify the AC to DC, and the rectifier won't care that the frequency is higher than usual.

Anyone ever thought of adding a simple EGR system to an MEP803a ?

EGR systems are designed to reduce nitrous oxide emissions, and won't do anything significant to reduce carbon particle emissions. The idea is to put a few percent of the exhaust gas back in the intake, which adds a small amount of CO2 into the incoming charge to lower its peak combustion...

    60KW genset phase quandry

If you have multiple loads like that, you can run one on one pair of legs and neutral, the next on a different pair and neutral, and a third load on the last pair and neutral (overlapping) and balance the load pretty well. It sounds like it might work very well for your application. The pumps...

24V Battery Charger Questions, who makes a good one?

I have a Soneil that works well.

    mep 803 WHY?

I've never gotten the louvers to fully open, running my 003A in the middle of a North Carolina summer. I guess I'd need to go to a 120 degree desert for that to happen.

    Mep002 12v conversion

Those little lawn tractor batteries are great. I've been using one to replace a long, narrow 12v battery in my fork lift for years now. I thought I might have to use two in parallel to get enough current to start the engine, but a single one works just fine, and lasts at least as long as the...

    Mep002 12v conversion

There's quite a bit of 24v stuff in one of these. I don't think anyone has mentioned the fuel pumps yet, for example, and you'd need a 12v starter motor. I got the impression that the original post was asking if the 24v starter would work on 12v. Also, if you go through the schematic, you can...

    60KW genset phase quandry

If you check, you may find that most or all of your 240 volt equipment will be perfectly happy with 208, so you can just run the station on two of the three phases and get 120 and 208. How big is the overall load, and is it really anywhere near 60 kW?

    Anyone Grid tied their generator?

You can synchronize the generator to commercial power with a light bulb, and then connect it, but as stated above, the power company almost certainly won't like it if they figure out you did it. And as stated above, any power you put back into the grid will cost you many times more in fuel than...

    MEP003a Unstable Voltage

With a meter that doesn't have the feature built in, you can power a 12v test lamp through the diode and see if it lights the bulb one way but not if you turn the diode around the other way.

    MEP003a Unstable Voltage

Test diodes with the diode test function of a multimeter, not the ohms scale. If unsure, check your meter's manual. Even if working on the diodes doesn't cure the problem, it will almost certainly prevent a future one.

    MEP003a Unstable Voltage

If that were mine, I'd unbolt the diodes from the mounts, do whatever it takes to clean the corrosion off the mounts, clean the diodes, check the diodes with a meter to make sure they're good, put a thin coat of grease on the mounts and diode threads, and bolt it all back together, and verify...

    MEP003a Unstable Voltage

Is that mass of corrosion really your rotating diodes? I can't imagine they're making contact with the metal bracket properly. In fact I'm having a hard time believing they could work at all, looking like that.

    MEP-003a new to me... comments?

If I remember correctly, a 10 kW resistive load should in theory make the load meter read 80%, since it's calibrated for a power factor of 0.8, and the resistive load has a power factor of 1.0.

    Need Consoling.....

Yes, the only time my 003A is maxed out is when my industrial 5hp 2-stage compressor starts. At other times it's difficult to get it up to 5 kW at this house, even with the air conditioner and various other loads going. I'm sure I could get by fine with an 002A or an 802A, and the much lower...

Safest way to uses a MEP 804b as a backup generator

You can check with the well pump manufacturer. My guess is that most pumps are rated for 208-240 volts.

Safest way to uses a MEP 804b as a backup generator

It's possible to use one or more transformers to convert from three phase to single phase. You can find a lot of information about it with a search for "three phase to single phase transformer" or something similar. But I would think that the 804 would be more than adequate for a whole house...
