They are actually good quality parts. 38 years and counting is a good part. Under three bucks apiece and a little time and effort and they will last another half of a life time.
I see one piece of firewood on the bottom that looks a little out of place Rick. Maybe you can fix it. Nice job! Did you get dizzy building that stack?
What year is your engine. Maybe a rocker arm keeper button. Might be worth a look under the valve covers to inspect your rocker arms.https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/gm-retainer-23500076.html?vin=&make=Chevrolet&model=K30&year=1986&submodel=&extra1=&extra2=&filter=(e=LL4)
I agree, take the heads to a machine shop would be my first order of business. I know Dive Dive knows his business, so I'm not one to second guess him, just saying.
Like I said, they have already tore your pump down and spent time and resources to diagnose your problem. The only way to know what is wrong with your pump is to tear it down. I don't think you have any legal grounds to get all of your money back. It is not the shops fault that your pump...
The price they quote you does not include replacing worn out parts. The price includes standard wear parts that they include in all pump rebuilds. You could have just asked them what parts were in need of replacement. Oregon fuel Injections rebuild services are hundreds of dollars more and if...

Tighten it with whatever you have, a ratchet with a socket would probably be the preferred method. Tighten it down real snug, you shouldn't need lock tight if you tighten it up really well. You could use blue thread locker if you want, it's your choice.
Rick, I have not used either one of these mounts yet so I cannot speak from experience. However, the 3.1116 mount was the go-to mount for the 6.2 diesel back in the day before Energy Suspension had a listing for the correct mount for the 6.2. I think through the years this application has...
You need a J code manifold gasket. There is a pump mount gasket. https://oregonfuelinjection.com/shop/chevy-gmc-duramax/1982-2000-6-2-6-5-l-diesel-pu/6-2l-pump-mounting-kit/
The reason I said that is because on several occasions, I have tried to help others looking for the correct engine mounts, and have been replied to that those were not the correct mounts. Also reading on many other posts regarding motor mounts, everyone else seems to use a different part number...
