Admittedly drifting here, but before rolling back on track, I found this:
- A lot more "twins" than I ever imagined, who knew?!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin-fuselage_aircraft
Can't be sure this (vid attached) is total fiction or historic content...BUT:
-Apparently Willy Messerschmitt even looked at the twin canopy concept
Who knew?
I'm just now remembering, the P-38 had a similar variation like this (twin canopies), too, didn't it?
Or am I making that up in my measley little mind? Anybody know?
Thanks, Tracer!
Wonder out of all the pilots who flew these:
- Wonder how many preferred flying from the 1) Starboard canopy, versus the 2) Port canopy?
You know?! Just curious.
Nice, Tracer! !Thanks for the vid!
Did these things ever see action?
Wonder what the whole idea was, reconnaisance or something?!
Guess I'll have to heed the helpful ColdWarrior and go look it up...
No kidding, that is some of the finest farming ground I have ever seen.
Not that I know a whole lot about it, but I spent a little time in farmland as a kid (on weekends, visiting my dad's parents out in the country).
Funny thing is, that was JUST outside of Washington, D.C. back in the day...
The algorithm has my number now (I'm guessing), or maybe the Russian hack assigned to me got bored and sent it, who knows?!
Anyway, this showed up today:
Papabear, you generously donated Proud American in good faith, you acted through love in memory of her crew.
That was wonderful, to sell her to anyone would be dealing in blood money. But you acted through love.
If everyone in this world did everything through love, then we wouldn't need Gun...
A lot of the paint companies have contact numbers to call for any questions you have about their paints.
There is solid good expertise here for sure, but you might consider a call to the manufacturer to shoot off some questions that they are gld to answer.
Just a thought.
Thanks for the thougt (of the vid), Tracer, that's what counts!
But, yeah, the world has too much ugliness in it already.
No need to add more ugliness, that's not helping. So you "done" good!!
I was interested how he said the game plan is all about TAKING the gun truck to schools, going THERE instead of being a static museum where you have to wait for people to come see you.
That's why they're working on a trailer for trailering Proud American out to reach more schools at further...
Well, yeah, that "super low" pass is just plain foolhardy.
It might be a handy skill in combat (maybe, I don't know), but for public display that's just courting disaster. Right?!
Suck a wayward bird into that cowling....I don't think the outcome would be real good.
The man didn't sound defensive, and didn't sound like he was inventing any story on the spot, he was quick to respond and seemed earnest and forthright.
I know what I CANNOT know: I can't know that the man isn't making up everything that he told me.
But I tell you what: I got the sense that...
