I like how you stayed away from the undercarriage too much as far as cleanliness and paint. These trucks get DIRTY underneath up north. Mine is pretty clean. But only because I spent WAY too many hours under there cussing and scraping, decreasing, etc.
As far as under carriages go, nothing but...
That is a CHERRY M220 the yellow and black actually go really well together. Nice pic Dan you look exactly like my uncle who was also a firefigher for several years.
The part with the "ears" is called the handbrake band support and mine had the ears broken off and rewelded back on by a previous owner or the Military. Butch has the part number for this item correct as confirmed by the Levy parts book. This item is $100 from Alfa Heaven and is not at the top...
Gee Dan don't forget the protein pack and volumizing conditioner we want to see you at your best thilly man. rofl
Take your time Boss! Actually the pics I posted were for my date I will be meeting on the 4th of July. What can I say big green trucks drive her bananas among.....other things. :hammer:
The rubber grommets for the bottom of the fuel pump housing can be ordered from Memphis. I went ahead and ordered 2 when i rebuilt mine. Little did I know each box contained 2 so I ended up with 4 total grommets. Send me your address and I'll mail you one if you need it Bergie.

Hahaha! You sound as excited as I was with my 6.2 installation. It's funny how when you finally plop it in there how well it fits up isn't it? Gunfreak is totally jealous. I agree the extra mounts are a great idea. Good job, she's coming right along!
I never bothered noticing the 302 oil filter canister. How does it hook up to the engine? Plain hydraulic fittings? You've got a few hundred bucks in parts there.
Nice, thanks V. So this resistor, does it reduce the voltage from 24 down to 12 or do I still leave the trans hooked up to the voltage converter I have on the firewall. Electronics were never my strong point.
Thanks for the clarification. I looked it up and the solenoid only draws .5 amps. If the solenoid saw 24v it would in theory cause the torque converter to lockup twice as fast correct? I don't think this is a bad thing since i'll only be using lockup under a few conditions. 1 being anytime I see...
Oh man! That tilting hood is so god darn cool! It DOES look like an 80's mack. I'll bet working on it has been really easy too, I remember how nice it was working on mine when I had the fenders off. Big points for posting all the pics, you need help with anything just send me a PM and i'll be...
There sure are a lot of GMC guys coming out of the wood work these day's. I had a great idea, it is a copy off another forum I was on many years ago and am still on today. We've all come to know one another on here, some of us have even made best life long beer buds when distance was not a huge...
