No, any standard pickup truck batteries will do. It's just a little 302 with a 6:1 compression. 24V also spins them over quuuuick.

If your a good welder you can also cut open the bottom off the tank off after properly airing it out. Then power wash or sand blast the insides and weld the bottom back on. Saw it done on a few WWII MV trucks. Test with water for leaks and repair as necessary.

The bottom of my tank has a galvanized type finish. The rest of the tank has flash rusting on the walls but nothing i'm concerned over. I am running a 2 micron diesel racor filter on the 6.2.
