captain rpms 813 on 1400s goes 72 mph on the highway empty. we clocked it with a pickup truck riding next to it. these speeds are with no load, nhc250 isnt really enough power for a loaded 5 ton or one with a trailer when it comes to highway speeds
now that i think of it, this fording cap was probably part of a fording kit and not part of factory trucks. my truck at one time did have a fording kit which was pirated off  and the hammer heads who got it prolly forgot the fuel cap
yes, some trucks have it and some dont. my one m35 has a cap that says non vented and my other trucks cap says somthing like vented open normal operation and closed fording vapor lock. the little valve is on the bottom of the cap. you just twist it and go swimmin lol
where is the pic of the m880 or whatever dodge it was sitting in the back of a deuce ? that had some kind of metal bracketry holding the gate up and bolted to the bed. the gates are pretty strong. if supported right by somthing other than the chains they can hold alot of weight. look at the way...
the pin blowing out wont damage the universal. thats why the pin is there to begin with. the shaft will spin all day long under no load once the pin blows .
i use snatch blocks and alot of extra cable and i dont break pins. the amount of cable on the drum has alot to do with the strenght of the pull before the pin breaks. a winch with 200ft of cable on it wont pull much when the line is only 10 feet out. it will pull its capacity or more when there...
are you sure the guy at the shaft shop wasnt just trying to make more money off of you?? i have chopped up bout 10 deuce shafts over the years makin shafts for mud trucks. i got all my stuf and a few lengths of tube from a local spice dealer and the prices seemed decent to me
both my trucks dont idle when cold. they dies. i shouldnt even say when its cold, more like when first started. i turn the throttle out to make it stay at 1,000rpm for about 5 min to let the turbo warm up then rev on it a little bit and its good to go with the throttle all the way closed and...
my truck dies out without having the throttle pulled a little bit but only when i start it when its been sitting. once it let it run 5 minutes or so i rev it to about 2500 really quick and then i can shut the throttle and its fine.
nothing realy fancy just a good bombproof clean and neat strait frame chassis. it consists of 4x4 square tube and heavy duty small arch 14" ford leaf springs. i'll prolly make a thread about it when i have enough to post a handfull of pics
my orings are brand new. i have replaced them a few times just thinkin i may have gotten a bad oring or somthing. i even put a little grease on them when i put the cap back on so resistance wouldnt tear the orings. i have done hub seals numerous times and i run one piece neoprene boots...
i actually started construction of a new chassis last week for the toyota. hoping to have it together and done before i take off for florida in march for trucks gone wild dysfunctional family picnic
my one deuce has been a beater ever since it left the hands of drmo way back when. it was purchased by joe young around 98' i beleive. it then was bought by a guy i know named pat. he bought it for a toy to play with on holiday weekends in the summer at a major word of mouth type underground...
even though mine ran and drove it still came home on the bar behind an M813 and i only had a 25 minute drive up a strait road from the lakehurst to my house
