Makes sense. I think the idea of the CTIS is really cool, but I have heard a lot of maintenance issues with it that have me a little concerned about the effort and expense of keeping it.
I am less concerned with the engine since I plan on eventually replacing it with a Detroit or at least...
I just started my research into the 900 series trucks, is there a reason you wanted the A1 over an A2. Main differences (that I am aware of) are the Engine and the CTIS.
Congratulations on the new truck, it looks great!
I bought a 8V92 Detroit a while back and have been looking for a truck that would work well (assuming I will never be able to afford a HEMTT). I liked the idea of buying a M925A2 as a donor vehicle for the engine swap, so if you end up changing to the Detroit, please post the project.
I am so...
GL is going to recover the original property and re-auction it or they can press charges against the person who stole it in the first place if they refuse to return the item.
Other then not catching the thief before they left the gate, I fail to see why you're are mad at GL for replacing a...
I have gone to pick up a MEP002A that I won and when I arrived another bidder had "accidentally" loaded an extra generator when he was there to pick up his win. :)
I showed up, and GL noticed the mistake and offered me another generator that had not been listed yet. It was in better shape...
How do you like the New base compared to the old springer base? Is the new one adjustable for weight?
I will be doing this same mode this summer but I have access to 2 with new bases. Based on you placing the older base on the passenger side, I assume the new base rides better then the older...
The plan was to make a plate that converted the 6 lug deuce to a 10 lug via 1.5" plate. Then you could bolt any 10 lug wheel that has the same pattern onto the axle.
Problem is time, I don't have any and neither does my brother (who is the skilled labor in this equation. :) )
My brother is the machinist in the family and he is working 70-80 hour weeks so everything is on hold until his work schedule goes back to normal.
Also found out one of my 395 tires that i purchased has a large hole in the sidewall. The mysterious hole seems to have the same size and shape...
I think it has been covered, but I think it is a bad idea.
High center of gravity could allow the cattle to flip the trailer. I have had first hand experience with cattle in poor or homemade cattle trailers. One where the cattle flipped the trailer, and the trailer flipped the truck. The...
You may want to use marine or at least an exterior rated plywood if it is going to be exposed to the elements. Even with paint, water will eventually find it's way into the plywood and may cause issues down the road. Just a thought.
What used to be called a 1/2 ton truck is rated closer to a ton these days. The "1 ton" trucks have something close to 4-5 ton capacity. I assumed that is why they started calling them F250s and 2500 instead as the competition heated up and trucks became stronger and stronger.
My "half ton"...
Yep, I bought a GL truck that "runs and drives", went to pick it up and they asked me where my trailer was parked. When I told them the ad said that it runs and drives they said "yep, but it doesn't stop." :)
Leaking wheel cylinders, bad Air pack, T-case had remains of chewed up bearing, but...
I picked up a couple of these seats for my Deuce but haven't unpacked them yet. I definitely appreciate the pictures of the new seats with the extended base set up in your truck.
What do the new seat and base feel like compared to the old springer base?
I was also curious if you were going to put any skid plates or the like under the tank?
I noticed during the thread where you earned your avatar picture, that you tend to take the less traveled path. :)
