Welcome. Great rig!
Could be a few things. My list below is not complete.
Check battery connections. Seriously. Loose ones can do this.
Make sure batteries are charged.
Retired War Horses is a HMMWV mechanic. Listen to him. Try wiggling the gear selector in park OR try starting in Neutral...
Place a heavy grease and Vaseline soaked rag through injector hole. Over drill and tap it out and use thread replacement. Vacuum out the area. Pull the oil soaked clothe slowly. Blast high pressure air. Look with boroscope and if fragments remain, blastout with oil or soapy water until clear.
Air compressor will also help blow out stubborn pieces. Direct flow of air into glow plug hole and catch broken pieces with gauze or wire basket over injector hole.
Swollen glow plug.
Removal tool broke off tip.
Removed fuel injector.
Extracted tip with magnet (also can use compressed air, flexible grasper, etc…
Pics will be self explanatory.
Posted with Hummer H1’s permission.
HummerH1 has run without coolers for over 270,000 miles Steve. He goes to Death Valley and Teakettle junction and Nevada and Arizona.
I know you’re a very knowledgeable mechanic and purist, but… Just sayin’.
Mog,
Best I can do is focus in with software. I hope that is good enough.
I left Cali. Vehicle is in Cali. If it’s an emergency I can ask Eric to shoot a few pics. I’m 3200 miles away.
That area broke away. Bolt holds broken piece of plastic. I will customize to resecure. L-shaped bracket and...
So, now that I know I have heat I need the directional vents to work. I need a source. 2007 M1165 ECV. I searched Kascar and EBay, no joy.
Intact (green circle) and broken vents (red circle) on my rig are circled.
EDIT- thanks HoveringHMMWV, units purchased.
Dashboard mods are now in motion.
I hate the current gauge placement so I purchased a template from an old International. I like the form. Now I need to tweak the fit. I will use this pattern but square it off. I plan to reposition gauges in front of the steering wheel. I anticipate the speedo...
Later years have coolers for engine oil, tranny fluid, and power steering fluid. Older years have a separate power steering cooler with a combination engine oil and tranny fluid cooler.
I am splitting into three aftermarket units eventually. Power steering and tranny are low pressure. Engine...
Which is leaking? My Project Joshua M1165 thread discussed bypassing the engine oil cooler and will later show my new aftermarket unit.
Long story short, I had a 24” hose made to accept the oil cooler hose fittings. I then coiled the hose and stuffed it out of the way. Leak is bypassed and...
As posted on my Project Joshua M1165 log, spent the last five days filling missing fluids, purging air, and bypassing the oil cooler. Did this all “free range”. Healthier mechanic garages yield healthier rigs according to People for the Ethical Treatment of Automobiles.
Transmission light comes on, and I can shift into reverse, 1, 2. Then nada.
I see my future… RTFM

Still, awesomely successful trip to visit Eric and work on my ECV. This is just a minor...
Joshua is alive!
Hubs are tight. All were drained of fluid by Uncle Sam’s mentally challenged red headed stepchild. Refilling sucks. One had a missing drain plug. Eric had spares! Tire had to come off as that plug is at an angle.
Power steering needed much more fluid. Bled system with Eric by...
