If swabbie doesn't take you up on it, I will. At least I can take a look at it and decide if it's worth trying to CAD one up to try out. The printer I have now can readily handle the better plastics I would want to build this out of if I were going to sell them and stand behind them.

Plan to come to Graves Mountain Rally over Labor Day. Hard to say what the schedule will be this year, but Cabell plans to hold the rally as of recently

I'd inspect the fuel tank for algae or other gunk as well, in addition to the items mentioned. Sounds like she just needs cleaned in (cleaned out, inside).

Mine stutters a little too. I'm sure it's repairable, but my compression is low so the real repair is a powertrain swap. I see no reason to rebuild a 6.2 when better are available.
Keep us posted!

Short of a compression test, you can also check the fuel delivery. Have you changed the fuel filters, bled water from the separator, bled the injectors? Smoke means something is affecting combustion, it's only a few things in the end. It is likely compression, but it could be something...
Or you could pour naval jelly in and wipe it ouT. Then after clean and rinse according to directions for the jelly, hand brush a fuel and rust resistant paint?
Lots of answers.
The spray and wait stuff, in my experience, never meets the expectations given on the can...
lots if ways to skin that...
Greetings All!
I'm looking for a reputable shop in Northern VA or DC Metro to handle a re-power of my HMMWV. I'm planning to purchase a 6.5NA or Turbo and 4 speed drivetrain (trans and transfer) soon. I'm prepared financially, and now that I have $$ to invest in it, I'm ready to speak with...
