What does a man do with an extra six inches? He puts them on his truck! (Thanks to @m715mike for that! 🤣😆😁) So... I bought a stack of tires from @fuzzytoaster last week and dragged them all across Texas before I got them home... I brought the 5 ton to a local shop to have them installed...

Mine wasn't quite so deep as the pics when I got stuck. The burying happened when I had hooked up both of my 4x4s and was trying to get it out without calling a wrecker. Once she buried, I shut it down and made the call.

A buddy of mine has a hydraulic winch from a HMMV he said he will probably work a deal out with me on.

He was a local guy who owns his own shop. I'm lucky to live in a small community where pretty much everyone knows everyone else. He was also embarrassed that his truck ended up sliding all over my yard trying to winch me out... 🤣😆😁

Indeed. I looked at my options and none of them were where I wanted to spend yesterday and the wrecker was a much better value of time/money/effort. No sense spending a day self recovering when I'm literally in my back yard!

The irony is the tires are pretty worn... I was on the way to put on the new 16R20s I got from @fuzzytoaster

Louisiana doesn't issue plates for historic MVs, only requiring stenciling. I carry a copy of the law in the truck too!

My sweet lady and kids knocked out the loading very quickly! We then drove straight home, arriving about 2130... a full 14 hour day... @Soupermike let me know he made it about an hour after I did. I am super excited about this and honestly can't wait to see what all is available...
