    Dead Deuce

I have a whole video series on installing new wiring harnesses in the M35A2. I have become intimate with the wiring on these trucks.

Power Driven Diesel Air Filter Restrictive?

Probably help a bit to leave the side panel off for the test drive too, just so you get more cool outside air instead of hot underhood air.

    I Took the Plunge: 71DeuceAK's 1986 M928A1 Project

There is more truck missing than is there, and what is there isn't any good. The engine isn't any good either, transmission may not be any good, transfer case could be damaged, lots of the air brake system is gone... it's a parts truck. And it's 4,000 miles from his house. If you want to piece...

    I Took the Plunge: 71DeuceAK's 1986 M928A1 Project

Andy, I've seen a maximum of two people tell you not to give up, and no less than 30 people not including myself honestly tell you it is a parts truck, and I'm in all the same groups you are. The first step to fixing a mistake is accepting that you've made one. Be honest with yourself. All us...

    LDS465-1a smoke reduction at idle?

If you advance the timing by 2° you will just blow a headgasket. The more you advance the injection timing, the higher the cylinder pressure, to a point. Static timing is already 22° BTDC, and these engines already have issues with lifting the heads. Leave the timing alone. I have a new set of...

Power Driven Diesel Air Filter Restrictive?

Just an idea; try it again but leave the bottom off. Just don't put the can on. The filter connects to the top plate, so it isn't needed. That'll tell you if it was the filter itself causing a restriction, or flow interference with the filter from part of the box.

    Jeepsinker's M35A2 6BT Cummins swap ( pics and videos)

Some more updates. Got the air induction system finished. Had to shorten the box by 4" but it came out just like I wanted. https://youtu.be/QUCHHHzgSYg

Power Driven Diesel Air Filter Restrictive?

You might have seen better results if you skeletonized or removed the step in the sump that blocks the front of the filter. Quite a bit of surface area there. A stock 5.9L Cummins breathes more air than the multifuel does, so...

A different security thread - shutters

Expanded metal. Light, strong, cheap, and easy to get and work with. You can even permanently install it over the windshields and be legal in most states. Not bullet resistant, however Amazon has lightweight bullet resistant fiberglass sheet of various thickness that comes in 4'×8' sheets...

    M35A3 disc brake conversion

Is there oil on the back side or bottom of any of your brake assembly backing plates? You may simply have a few hubs that are leaking oil and have oiled down the shoes and drums. They also may simply all need adjustment, as they are not self adjusting brakes. I'll take the opportunity now to...

    Engine knocking LDS-456

You would be money ahead looking into a Cummins swap. I have a complete video guide if you are interested. It will be more expensive than rebuilding your multifuel, but you won't be doing it again in 20,000 miles.

    Engine knocking LDS-456

Yup. Start looking for an engine or planning a swap. You have damaged pistons and/ or liners. These engines really aren't worth the cost to overhaul anymore for their average lifespan ( 40-50K miles)

    Engine knocking LDS-456

Absolutely coming from the injection pump. Replace the hydraulic head o-rings and the boost pump drive seal and you'll be good to go until something else breaks. Your knocks could be cylinder liners that are coming apart. That's what happened to my LDS465-1A, which is why I've spent so much...
