Ya , I cruise my A3 at around 50 MPH , seems to like it there and engine sounds pretty busy if you go faster . As far a the Aberdeen Rally in May , been there several times , not a bad show , not too many A3 parts , not as many vendors as there used to be . I have been going to the Findley Ohio...
Make John Emery your new friend . How does it go , Most expensive little MV going !!!! Depending on how long it has been sitting , figure a complete service , all filters and fluid changes . I use 30W with some additive . Figure on removing the fuel tank for a good cleaning and plan on some carb...
Ya , we had the "TUPPERWARE" car club , o sorry Corvette thing at a show yesterday , 24 Corvette's in a row . We had 13 Vehicles from our club , everything from 5 tons to deuce's ,CCKW, CUCV's , M38A1's , M274 Mules we made the car guy's nuts , and yes the mule did double duty with taking...

What Kaiser67 said :ditto:, best way just rip it off , when you get the new seal it will be self explanatory . Use a good grade of wheel bearing grease . The KEYWAY CORK is VERY important ! , use a little RTV when you install it . You are halfway there , good job !
Has anyone tried Vintage Air to see if they could put some type of A/C kit together for a HMMWV ? It might not be exactly to Mil-Spec but the price might be better, just a thought .
You should not lose hardly any gear oil when you do your bearing repack and seals , don't forget to check ALL your fluids before the big trip . BTW , when I was younger I did the pry bar trick , but as you get older you get a LITTLE smarter .... sometimes , anyway now I have a tire dolly ...
I think you are going to need some axle seals . It would be a good time to do a complete service of your brakes, repack your wheel bearings and new inner and outer axle seals . It appears that gear oil is leaking into your wheel bearings . FYI , the wheel bearings are lubed with grease not gear...
YUP , crap system for sure ! The quad rings are a killer and very hard to find ! forget the inner wheel bearing !!!! I agree completely with the other posts . I took off the CTIS on my A3 and made it into the A2 setup . I do not think it would impact the price at all as most of time it does not...
