If the CTIS tire hose is not leaking and the tire bead is not leaking check these two places.
Remove the control port hose from the wheel valve and cover the port with your hand, no pressure should be building 2-minutes (if pressure is present the WV is problem) disassemble and clean inside...
Here is an updated drawing for creating a CTIS "Y" harness to allow diagnostic communication with a replacement ECU on an older A0 vehicle. You probably do not need the CAN resistor or the wires if you just want to use the Dana software tool which will connect over the J1708
When the CTIS checks the tire pressures: The upper control line (pCU to QRV tops, must stay above the tire pressures or they will dump. Things that can cause this.....1. Imbalanced or flat tires when the pressure switch opens(run the engine at FT to close it quicker. 2. Leaking upper line, keeps...
The drawing is for an LMTV harness only but the Configuration wires will put the ECU into the wrong configuration. If you want to use this drawing the two config wires should go straight through with no splices. If you have a truck with a black CTIS ECU the communication wires are most likely...

A1 vehicles have a CTIS ECU that can communicate through J1708. Depending on when the truck was built the 2 com wires may or may not be connected to the vehicle diagnostic service bus. Black 9 way Deutsch. Find the connections in the CTIS service manual and ohm them out. if they are not...
Thanks for taking the time to look at the manual. You are correct the 5 solid lights is not mentioned. We could not account for strange ECU behavior due to internal circuit failure, because basically anything goes. 5 solid lights is not a normal function condition so the conclusion that the ECU...
Service manual update. I re-wrote most of this manual so I will try to answer CTIS questions here.
Dana has released an updated CTIS troubleshooting manual.
AXTS-0015 2017 http://media.spicerparts.com/media
Download the manual from link posted on page 12, disconnect the ECU and ohm the solenoid sockets from the harness to a ground. Any open circuit is a problem I think you should get 60 ohms, just make sure they all read the same but not open. I you find an open disconnect the PCU and check it...
Because it wowed when it powered on there are a couple of things to look for. First make sure the lights are not in "Blackout" Second If there is a PCU solenoid disconnected it is "no light Fault" Don't ask why, it may be to prevent circuit damage if there is a short.
Here is enough to be dangerous. See how this goes, I may be able to send you the full spec.
Command: ECUs on Data Link
Display: MID & SAE J1587 MID Description for user selection
Global Request: 172 / 000 / 243 / CS
Specific Request: 172 / 128 / 243 / MID / CS
Response: MID/243/n/MID/b / b...
Yes, you can send the request message to the ECU and decode the response. The response will contain the current mode and fault codes active and historical.
The DDT Software will send a request to the ECU, The ECU will not broadcast anything until it sees this request. So if you have a combox connected with a bus active light, and nothing else on the bus the light will not show traffic until you start the DDT software then you will see the traffic...
I am realizing that there are probably many CTIS threads that I don't know about that I could be of help with. Can someone here maybe start a new generic CTIS thread and I can try to answer any related questions all in one place. My designations for vehicles is different from the exact military...
Both ECUs listed above have 1708 and CAN communication capability. The original green ECU has no com capability and all the unused pins are internally traced to ground and could damage you com box. The DDT tool is pretty reliable over the J1708 connection. The ECU software may not broadcast on...
The ECU part number will be very important as the older ECU's do not have com software imbeded. I will make sure the newer ECU have the com active in the software.
What is the ECU Part number?676422 and 676603 are the two possible choices that will communicate with a laptop. Not sure if the 422 has the CAN chip but 603 does for sure. What COM box are you using to connect? and is the box powered up properly. When using a USB com box sometimes I have to try...
