    MEP-802a electrical diagram

FYI…I believe that the only difference in the schematics between the MEP-802A and the MEP-803A would be the extra two glow plugs. I believe that everything else in regards to the schematics is the same. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong!

The schematics are also located on the inside of the left and right engine access doors.

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread 2.0

Since I began playing with these marvelous machines a few years ago, I have been on this forum, even more so than some of my friends who indulge in social media. I’m not a fan of social media, but this forum has got a hold on me. I wonder if there’s a 12 step program out there for me🤫

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread 2.0

I was also following that thread from you about the damaged unit. Sad, but I'm sure that you'll get it repaired like new. I believe that @Light in the Dark is a great source for sheet metal parts. Good luck!

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread 2.0

That’s what I’m thinking too. I haven’t actually removed the tank on an 803 yet. I’m not even sure if the tank could be reinstalled with the new well nut fittings in place. It protrudes from the tank quite a bit, would probably make reinstalling a problem.

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread 2.0

I always appreciate your videos and the time it takes to make them. Very helpful.! I'm wondering about the MEP-803A machines though. Because the lower well nut is located outside of the enclosure, basically on the skid frame, do you still remove the tank on those units? I know that the hole in...

    4l80e head scratcher.. need help

What about the two external speed sensors. You mentioned replacing the internal harness and all of the internal sensors. Is there possibly a problem with the external speed sensors or the twisted pair wires to each?

    MEP 802A/803A replacemet Radiator possibilities?

Yes indeed. Good radiator shops are going away just as fast as good machine shops. There used to be one in every city. I guess EPA and lack of knowledge has hurt both of those services.

    MEP-804B Transformer Smoked?

It's kind of interesting. I was holding S1 on this MEP-804B model for longer than normal also when I hear a "popping" sound and then the set stopped producing power. Kurt helped me through the T/S process and we came up with a bad A1 VR. He sent me one of his VR's and it arrived in lightening...

    MEP-804B Transformer Smoked?

I had a similar thing happen on an 804B back in December. @kloppk helped me big time. He has custom made A1 voltage regulators. With his VR in place, the transformer is no longer needed. BUT… please do as @Guyfang has suggested first! Identify what VR system that you have before replacing any of...

    MEP-804a Voltage Fluctuation

Great guy! He got me straightened out on a 804B a while back. Same experience as you. Lightening fast shipping and great support on the installation process. 🤙

    Mep-803a hz adjustment

Good job there Chuck! Glad to hear you got your unit up and running. My experience with the hertz adjustment cables has been just what you suggested. Some penetrating oil in the mechanism itself will do it good. I’ve also gone as far as to remove the cable at the other end (at the governor) then...

    MEP-804B Problem Starting

The truth is, there’s a simple loose connection or corroded connection somewhere causing the voltage drop on the 163 24vdc circuit for the main panel. I believe that it begins on the large 24vdc connection on the starter, then it goes to the s10 switch. It will show itself very soon! Just for...

    MEP-804B Problem Starting

I take it this unit is not trailered. Any way for you to load it up onto a flatbed trailer so you can haul it home with you to repair it there? It may prove to be less costly than spending money on gas going back and forth while also spending money replacing otherwise good parts.

    MEP-804B Problem Starting

The people here in the forum simply encourage others to become more knowledgeable about their own equipment. It goes without saying that the more time you spend with your own head in those tight places you were referring to, the more efficient you will get in the trouble-shooting process. This...

    MEP803 Fixup

Just curious Ray. Without pressure in the combustion chamber holding the valves up, how far will they drop when the piston is at TDC? It may make it difficult to compress the springs far enough to get the keepers off of the valves.

    MEP-803A Repair Assistance

It’s good to know that good governor control really depends on good IP health with these LP engines. Your determination has paid off! Great work 😁
