On a more modern vehicle, sure, replace the brakes more often.
Coming down STEEP hills with sharp switchbacks, I will take any auxillary braking I can.
I doubt any of us will truly use the lifespan of these engines, so I think shortening it by however much is a fairly moot point.
Biggest thing...
The trailer setup (everything besides the shelter itself) is called 'Dolly Set, Lift, Transportable Shelter, 3-ton M720.'
The front axle set is listed as M721, and the rear is M722.
Here is a link to the TM.

I still have three of these...
This is on a class 8 semi truck to chain up an axle when needed.
Made it nice when I was towing them from the back. Easy to hold the axle up when I lifted the truck off the ground and not rip the air bags.
Ah, I watched that one. I could use it to move excavators. But I didn't have a secondary use to justify getting it. Of course, I don't HAVE the excavator yet, but I was planning ahead ;)
I did what you are talking about, it BARELY got the tire up, and I mean BARELY!
The weight of my super singles were heavy, and the spring pack has slop for verticle when you unload it, plus it is hanging by a couple spring leafs, which are not as stiff in that load direction.
BUT, it would be...
I did the relay swap first thing. Not really worried about that part.
I like the idea of having the disconnect to keep the batteries from draining when it sits for longer periods of time.
And it does make maintenance a lot easier, but that isn't that big of a deal really.
Normal ISO container locks have a lot of slop in them.
But, they do make ones built to have no slack.
Here is a vertical lock.

And here is a stronger version of the same lock...
Have you thought about doing a LARGE selector switch to switch between single and three phase, like the -002 does?
I would really like to have a 15k for the house setup (I already have the -002a that works great, but have to watch the loads), and also use it for three phase stuff in the shop...
Do a spin on filter conversion. It is one of the first things I do to any new to me CUCV.
And the ones Gimpy is selling are top notch for a great price!
Cut-V, just like I did when I was in.
And to clarify, 10-O-9 or 10-O-8 for which one of the buggers we are talking about. Or, hers or his if we want to be picky (yes, I have a few).
And I know there isn't a 'T' in it, the pronunciation has a separate meaning.
I asked that exact question when I was registering the 818, but ended up paying the tonnage.
She said the difference was that you were paying for what it weighed, not what it could haul.
That was the answer I got when I did it. Same thing when I did the deuce.
