Interesting. The legal standard is "commerce".
FMCSA:
Question 5: A driver used by a motor carrier operates a CMV to and from his/her residence out of State. Is this considered interstate commerce?
Guidance: If the driver is operating a CMV at the direction of the motor carrier, it is...
Yes and no. Register the ownership as an LLC in a MV friendly state. The LLC gives you use of said truck in it's bylaws. This also can limit your liability.
Registering your vehicle in your name in another state to avoid paying taxes is fraud...
I left Michigan a long time ago. Best move EVER. J. Granholm sold the state out.
The MVPA has not been as aggressive as it should. I doubt they have the funds.
Let me put it short and sweet. If all of us stick together, we have a chance. Even financially. Even Canada and European countries are...
True, but remember the 6x6's have some 24k gold plated replacement parts in the drive train / suspension. At least that's how they are priced by some..
Yes, I have been looking at what legal standards to temporary, preliminary, or perm. one. Because this involves Federal and State Law, and may require expert opinion, it would be best to form a National Coalition with legal representation which represents the needs of ALL MV owners and drivers...
May I suggest that a new organization that represents the legal needs of MV owners needs to be formed. Under the guises of providing information to the general public and legislator about these vehicles. A lobbyist MV hobbiest would be great!

My Haldex pump is 24 volt. I used heavy gauge wire to reduce losses. Voltage chosen to utilize all the batteries. Correct, a voltage drop will be noted with overloading. Low voltage heats the wires more and strains these motors.
I don't know about shoes, but I did see brake cans and know that you can get seals from Meritor. No complaints ever heard about CAT dealers working on these engines, except the 3116 requires special tools.
The 3116, 3126 and C7 are similar in design, bar electronics. Any of them are fine. They all share the drawbacks of dry cylinders. This limits max HP and torque and ease of rebuild. Some mechanics call these engines "disposable".
If you want to swap to be the king of the hill, drop a IH DT570...
Yes and no. It depends on 2 things. A strong CCA rating and alternator output. With adequate batteries CCA you can run the vehicle. The alternator would only be taxed to the amperage that the batteries could not support. If the alternator is pushing more than it is rated, then sure, the...
