    Dropside tie down point rating

When you consider Dynamic loading in a case like an accident that's pretty impressive because you might think they would snap. I actually called AM General today and they forwarded me to somebody where I left a voicemail. Based on what you guys have told me I feel comfortable using them but now...

    Dropside tie down point rating

Thanks for the thread I found the technical bulletin which goes into great detail on installing them but doesn't list their capacity. Unfortunately the links to other threads in that thread are all broken. As a side note I've noticed that in some of the older threads the links no longer work

    Dropside tie down point rating

Thats awesome, that's exactly what I was looking for is some real world experience, although I would love to actually see what they rated than that in the manual. That tanks going to weigh about 13,000 pounds and I've got 6 on each side. I think the simplest answer is to make some turnbuckles...

    Dropside tie down point rating

I've done quite a bit of searching in the manuals, on the site, and online and have not been able to find any information on the weight rating capacity for the little fold down tie down points inside of a drop side bed. They don't look super substantial so I don't expect that they would be...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Hahahaa, well when I was a young buck in the Air Force I did plenty of things that probably should have won me a Darwin Award:naner:

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

First of all, thank you guys for the detailed and thoughtful replies, exactly what I'm looking for. I am aware of the dynamic load which is why I plan on filling that thing with wiffle balls/baffle balls. Also the skid will be bolted down securely so it cannot shift from the force of water...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Got my water tank mounted on my skid that I made and loaded in the back of the truck I'm a little concerned that the weight will be back a little too far if anybody has any thoughts on that feel free to give me some input. you can see with the short wheelbase the center of the tank is...

m1078 conversion to brush fire truck

Well that's the reason I need to run with the baffle balls, my tank is 1650 gallons. Defending my buildings I won't need to be going on any steep Terrain other than the driveway to my house which is straight up and down. But I definitely don't want any problems with sloshing.

m1078 conversion to brush fire truck

What size tanks are you running? I was given the impression buy one tank company that the surge was a very big deal which I can understand. Here is the tank I'm using it's an elliptical leg tank with some baffling built-in

    Run flats. Yes or no?

Well I have to say that this is something I had not considered as far as the big truck goes. But I can see the advantage of having the front wheels with run-flats so I think I'm going to Source a couple.

    Run flats. Yes or no?

I guess I'll have to let air out of the tire and see how flat it goes to know if I have them in there. Where can you get them? And are they a lot?

    Cross Country in an M820

I would LOVE to extend the cab like that, it's crossed my mind, I'm 6'5", but I have the short wheel base and I plan to put in fmtv crane behind the cab so I just don't have the space to do it. I don't drive my truck long distances so it's not a really big problem but I probably would take it...
