Has anyone tried taking the old steel fan out and putting a plastic fan in ? I read somewheres that those steel ones take 60 horse to spin at full tilt where a plastic one only takes 40
Ok so if you get A total rebuild on your pump then you will need to go into a tach shop and ask to have a new tach cable built with the standard cummins key the one that is stock on the truck is normally used for gmc injection pumps and allison transmissions
I rarely go above 45-50mph on the highway with it was just looking for a little bit more power on the hill's I don't expect it to make crazy numbers or anything

And yes I read the tm's put the pics there are very unclear. I was wondering if someone could take a picture of how there tach cable connects to the injection pump for someone reason I keep breaking tachs and cummins is saying that I need some sort of adapter for the top of the tach drive? any...
ya what It looked like to me was the axle or tire was trying to slide but was gripping to much and then kicking the tire or axle back into place like I said it was only moving half a inch to a inch tops
dam I bet those aren't cheap either eh but really all jokes aside I kinda can't ask the tm what would make a popping noise when backing up and make the tire or axle move half a inch can I? like really isn't this what this site is for? so that we can help each other out
