Trying to figure out the proper way to get this done. Got a 803 that had the shims messed with, when I got it it never ran like the other 803 I have.
I looked up the workshop manual from lister petter, found the page where it talks about fuel pump timing. Even found a video on you tube that...
Thank you to every one for the help. Got it all sorted out.
found a few old threads about using a counter bore for injector seats for old diesel
Tried it, then annealed the washers. Works great.
No more leaking blow by.
now just gotta find the next problem to fix lol.
Double checked there’s only one washer in the bore.
Then tried the annealing thing.
Injectors look good, took one apart and didn’t see anything.
Tapped the wings down with a piece of metal and a hammer also.
Still no luck, leaking like before.
As a last resort, tried one of the injectors and...
2010 803, around 250 hrs. I was replacing the fuel return lines because they were leaking. After replacing, had some diesel left over on the head by the injectors. When running it, noticed small bubbles forming around the injector.

I found a tear down video online. It’s pretty good. It’s three parts.
Hopefully I can get this assembly back in with out Taking the crankshaft out. It looks tight but doable.
In the first picture you can see the little spring. When I pulled this out, mine was not engaged, it was just hanging...
messing with it now. Will update.
found another problem, looked down by the battery on the right side, saw a lot of oil. Had a mini heart attack lol. Wiped it all down.
then ran it again and saw it’s leaking from the seal, I think it’s the fuel shut off solenoid. Another thing to fix.
Hey everyone
took the advice from the other threads and took off the muffler. Got it running and loaded it up to 105% and I can clearly see 2 cylinders puffing smoke. The other two seem to be running okay. Had it running for like 10 minutes and can see the carbon build up on the valve covers...
I used this to refill mine, worked like a charm. Little pricey but worth it. Pulls a vacuum and checks for leaks also.

Hey everyone,
on the yanmar engines used in the 531/831, is there supposed to be a injector seal, kind of like a copper washer or something along those lines ?
I took an injector out today and there was no seal in it but the parts breakdown had two types listed. Parts 17 and 18 in the diagram...
There is a tag but looking at the manual it’s for the year and serial number unless I’m reading it wrong. But then this tag doesn’t follow the scheme as is. Missing the model
