Well, other thah the ovbious size differences in the 2,the bare facts are as follows.
The 602 will manage about 3 to 5 mpg average empty, the multi will usually make 8 to 10 depending on the fuel used.
The 5 ton has power steering, the deuce does not.
5 tons have a better braking system in my...
IF it got hot enough to discolor the paint on the heads and the block,it's probably got a future as a boat anchor without a complete tear down and rebuild.
If it sounds like the rods are knocking,I would NOT run it ,they may decide to make an exit hole somewhere.
Mark,
I have had a few of those here,I did as patracy said, removed the line from the injector, then slipped the box end of a combination wrench over the line down to the IP end of the injector line.
This usually works, and you can always double wrench it this way if needed.
Hopefully your 5...
Hate to hear you will be selling the cranetruck Bjorn, but I would definetly be interested in it as well,I was planning on another wrecker purchase soon anyway.
Well, being as I did own the complete truck,I can tell you that most of it is probably on it's way to China by now.
Me personally,i will not trade with or buy/sell anything to the former owner(rtjraliegh) again.
That was a long day driving a 816,even longer on the trip home!!
And that was the second time I towed a M123 home with a 816,I would not do it again ever!!
I will echo WM's statements, except I would say take an extra 50 gallons of fuel,2 extra fuel filters and a truck load of patience,an 816...
UPDATE!!!
Thanks to Driver523,Papabear,73M819 and several of the crew of "The Justifier" I recieved a package in the mail today from the last NCOIC of the Justifier that included 2 CDs of pictures that helped me nail down exactly what I needed for the gunbox on this truck.
If all goes...
Between 50 and 52 mph,and I wouldn't rev it over 1950 rpms for long periods. I know Papabear's Proud American guntruck will do 60(verified) in stock form.
I don't wanna tell you what to do with your truck, but being there are fewer and fewer A1 trucks out there,I would think seriously...
Jennifer and I got home about 17:45 or so,Neil was contuining north on I85 at about 4PM,so he should be home about 7 or so.
I already tallied up the numbers for the M54A1, 550 miles round trip,110 gal of fuel used,4.9 mpg,all but 60 miles of that was flat towing a M35A2C w/winch.
I guess you...
Well,I have some less than desireable news reguarding the 816......
It won't be making the trip south to the rally this year,Mark is literally covered up at work and cannot get away.
I told Squirt truck that i would help with recoveries off road using my M35A2C,it appears it will probably...
Well,After searching the threads and getting questions from other members,I decided to cover the cleaning /rebuild of the fuel tank selector valve used on the M39,M800 and possibly M900 series 5 tons.
First off, this valve is a common air leak in the fuel system on the 800 series trucks with...
I'm guessing it has the old style Ross power steering box( mounted on the drivers side frame rail just ahead of the cab).
If so,here are a few things to check,
There should be only 1 hose going from the pump to the steering box,and it should be connected to the fitting closest to the...
Well, the M54A1 is definetly a GO for the rally!!
Kenny delivered my 673 Mack this morning that I purchased from tie6044(thanks Scott!),I test fired it and it's ready for it's new home under the hood.
It sounds awsome, and I do believe it's had the fuel turned up a bit[thumbzup]
