    What model is this tractor?

It's an M818 w/w. $18k is typical dealer price for a 5 ton Cummins pwr'd tractor. I have 4 depot rebuild M818 tractors for sale. All rebuilt in 2006/2007 with less than 50 hours and 800 miles each one. $10,000 a piece. These aren't your typical dealer "aerosol overhaul" trucks as these...

Could a muffler cause more smoke?

Leave it open!!! Chicklin, Your truck looks good. Personally I like the noise of the multifuel and would leave it alone. The full size muffler like bottleworks posted seems to look more OEM than the short style you posted. Andy

I just picked up two M818's yesterday and the trucks do not have data plates on the dash. I did find a number stamped on the drivers side frame rail inside the fender. Can someone please tell me what Make and Year these trucks are so I can submit the SF-97's? Truck #1 C124-10579 Truck #2...

    M809 series spare parts?

Sounds like you bought the truck in Des Moines off GL. I'd give John Winslow in N.C. a call as I believe he has a few M809's he is parting out. John's both honest and reasonable. Andy

Deuce STARTER CAN SELF DESTRUCT IF TESTED WITHOUT LOAD

AWESOME M52!!!!! All I can say is WOW! Your M52 looks awesome. We are looking to do the same sort of setup with the rear winch on our M818. It's great to see people tastefully add additions to these already beefy trucks. On your springs- We had our front springs rearched 3" and added two...

M818 on a regular height 60" flatbed legally????

Can you fit an M818 5 ton on a regular flat bed trailer height wise legally? The height of the trailer is 60" or 5ft. I'm currently in the process of bringing back one M818 and one M35 on a flatbed and the base doesn't have a loading ramp that is low enough to load a drop deck and the driver...

    RUST STOP

I've used the above NAPA rust treatment on our M812 radiator. We coated all of the bolts where they like to rust on the bottom tank. If memory serves correctly it's milky white initially they turns to black. It's held up well so far. Andy

    Cummins 5.9L in a Deuce?

welcome back! Good to hear from you Tony! Your website looks great. I agree the 5.9L Cummins is more than sufficient for a bobbed duece. I've owned a 2001 Dodge H.O. 5.9 6spd 4x4 around 7,300lbs and an 2003 S.O. 5.9 5spd 4x4 weighing 8,100lbs empty. When I hauled my NHC 250 engine in the...

    250 water pump gasket

We installed a new water pump gasket for the exact same reason you did- replacing the belts. We purchased ours directly from N Power Cummins in Minneapolis, MN. I'm sure Will Wagoner can find the part # for you if he chimes in. Now is a good time to grease your fan hub- I notice alot of the...

M35A3 with Cat Engine - WMO an option????

I'd run from WMO with a CAT!!!! The Cat HEUI injection system has a hard enough time making injectors last with clean regualar diesel fuel. I wouldn't risk running WMO through the the injection system on this engine. Price (1) rebuilt injector from Cat and see if it's worth it.... Andy

Wheel Stud length for 5 ton with 1600's.

We are finally ready to put on our Hemmt Rims with 1600's on an M818. We have the tires & rims and I have been slobbering over them for the past 3 months. What wheel studs do I need to make these work for the front? What length? Any recommended place to buy them. I know Oshkosh Equipment...

    Deuce as daily driver?

Drive It! I used my M35 non turbo as a daily drive for 3 months during college break a few years back. I live in a small town (20,000) but I'd still go through about 20-30 gallons a week so I was putting on a few miles. Other than having to install a new generator I had no issues. If I could...
