Neat-so that's where the oil reservoir(s) are in an A/W. It's thinner than I thought it would be.

Had to push the rails apart about 1/16" or 1/32" with the hi-lift to get the extensions in. Was right at the ragged edge of fitting. Once the extensions were in, we still had to pull them in the rest of the way with the hi-lift on one side and the come-along on the other side. See pics.

The idea is that the tolerances in all of the bolt holes give some adjustability. Loosen everything up, shift the winch over, re-tighten. Frame rails stay where they are and hopefully the winch shifts over just enough to clear the box. Doesn't have to be much.

I glanced at them last night and they appeared fine. I think it's the angle I shot the picture. Compared it to my other trucks last night and it looked the same. I don't think so but you will see it soon. :razz: I believe I am going to try and shift the winch over, per Gringeltaube's...

Threads like this come up about every 6 months. I just don't get it. We've had MV's over 6 years. Jeeps, CUCVs, Deuces, etc. I have had ONE bad experience in the entire time: There is a homeless guy who wanders around town who is obviously mentally ill who flipped me off while I was driving...
