Letting the air down to 10-15 in either 5 or 2 1/2 ton, makes a huge difference. I live near a beach, and you would be surprised how many people [tourists] try to go and not let air down. And they dont have 10 tires to let it out of.

Thats pretty impressive, i'd like to see it. Of course the ends are thicker, than the sides, but have heard of people tig'n the sides together too. I never tried it, besides I dont like hot beer!!!
torch tip size should be about 00, 0, or 1 welding tip, depending on the brand of torch. and for all these the pressure settings on the regulator should be around Oxy 3-5 psi, and Acty 3-5 psi. Seems no 2 regulators are exactly the same, so as somebody mentioned above, practice on scrap piece..

There are different types of sand for sure, On our beach a 4x4 pickup without air let out will struggle, pull super hard. yet on daytona beach in Florida, ive seen cars ride down it.
I worked in the desert in california for a little over 2 years, and we ran 15 psi all the time. Only traveled short distance on hard road, made truck hard to steer on paved road, but worked good in sand. If we didnt let air, they would "hop" alot and pull hard in soft sand. With air let out...
I think wheel speed and momentum is huge..Just like a farm tractor, you want the highest gear with out stalling. gotta move that mud out of the tread, if a very low gear is used, tire tread will fill up...2cents

I got my insurance through state farm, very reasonable.
If the latch is stuck in maybe rusted, or need lube not sure, but if you need to take it out it comes out through the access panel of the door, gotta have skinny arms, or in my case scratch them up.

I agree with myothersanM1, I like the old A2, like the noise, smoke, the manual transmission and the older look. but to each thier own
Only have had mine for a few weeks, so i'm a new here too, but actually have alot of miles driving A2's, long ago, uncle sam owned them....lol.

Somebody said there were 5000 A3's built. Anybody know how many A2's were built?? and what was the last year the A2 was built? Ive seen a couple 1980 models.
Now that I think about it, When I bought this truck, I also got an extra cab, Engine, trans and transfer case. I gotta go pick it up, but I bet thats where it came from..I was just figuring it was a wreck or salvage unit. But could very well have been from a unit that was made into an A3.
