The 800 series came stock with the 250 HP naturally aspirated straight diesel engine......they will pull a lot more than 5 tons.....they were used to pull the 5000 gallon tanker in POL units....they didn't do it fast but they did it consistantly. I once pulled a narrow guage railroad box car...

The M915 is a lot lighter than the M916/M920 due to lack of transfer case and front drive axle. It also gets a little better fuel milage. The M915 came with the 15 speed Cat tranny or the 5 speed Allison. While I lke the Cat the Allison is cheaper to repair and easier to get parts for.

Do you have the key in the "ON" position when you jump it across the soleniod? I have jumped the M915/916's across the seleniod inside the dash panel when there was no key with the truck. You may have an ignition switch problem. If you don't have the switch "on" the truck will run but you...
