Might not be the route you want to take, but I just buy my Grade 8 hardware in bulk on eBay (like 25-100, depending on size of the bolt). Bolts, washers, nyloc-nuts etc. It's about 10 times cheaper per bolt. Sure, I spend more but I get a _a lot_ more hardware for the money.
Thank you. But I did pull a site taboo back then and linked to a classified ad that would eventually go away.
You can search on eBay for "Fasco 24v fan". Though this exact model isn't all that easy to find (back in 2011 I bought them for $25.00 each, on eBay - at the time of this writing - they...
They definitely look big enough to be 11.00-20 NDT tires from the picture. But how you find out is like every-other tire in the world, go look on the sidewall and read the rubber formed numbers on it. It'll probably read exactly like:
11.00-20 <BRAND> MILITARY
Common brands:
Fidelity
Mohawk...
Apologies, I left off the questions I had no input on.
Is there a resource for the heater... like where to install one? Purchase one? It has wires to it... but thats it.
Likely you'll have to find someone parting out a truck with one, or get some after-market adaptation. Gralmk is correct, it...
Most of your info is correct, except the highlighted part. The M35A3s ran 14.2R20 stock, which were about 43" tall.

I've only ever had the cutoff trigger at low speed maneuvers, never when rolling down the road, changing lanes, turning, etc. One valve in the new drag link likes to dump air when steering left until you roll it back to the right slightly.
ANYWAY, I opened it up and RTV'd the top, outer lip and...
I've never heard of "12.5 x 20" tires. Did you mean 14.5? Because the M35A3, stock, used 14.5R20 radial tires that are ~43" tall vs the 9.00-20 NDT's that are about 40.5" tall. Though correct, they do only add 1-1.5" of ride height.
The following figure I found here on Steel Soldiers and it is...
Strange, as it is most certainly supposed to be part of them! I would highly suggest you see if you can find one and install it. See the installation instructions "safety valve"...
I've certainly never messed with the oil pump, but I'm probably lesser mechanically inclined of the folks around here. Personally, I wouldn't dream of dropping the oil pan and messing with the oil pump unless I thought/knew it was having issues. I regret I didn't check my oil for metal parts on...
It was part of the package that you're supposed to install. It cuts off air assist to the steering at 60 PSI - the same time the low air pressure buzzer comes on. It might be harder to steer but you can still use your brakes!
It's a safety thing.
I put a NOS air assist steering package on my M35A2 about 1.5 years ago. The low-pressure cut-off valve that you install on the firewall is leaking air, not a lot, but enough.
Is it possible, or "okay" (not going to damage it?) to take the top 4 allen bolts off and add some RTV to try and...
Hello, I'm about 20 miles north of Salt Lake City, UT. Unfortunately, there is little in the way of Steel Soldier's express out this way. Unless someone has a trip planned from the Salt Lake area to Phoenix, AZ area where Castel Bravo and 98G are. 98G seems to travel east often enough (at least...
For the record, I received a ~200 lb pallet via Fastenal from NC -> Layton, UT (~2100 miles). Everything arrived in good order in about 1 week, but one of the ratchet straps used to secure the load had broken.
There was some confusion from the local Fastenal folks as when I arrived for pickup...
Thanks Mr. Gimp. Do you have a rough estimate what thickness of wire would be good for those two applications? My brother said he uses 0.030" wire - I assume he meant for everthing he welds.
I pulled off the shackles from both trailers and noticed, for the first time, that the pin heads are different. The parts trailer shackles are on the left, the first trailer's shackles on the right.
Same manufacturer, separated by one month and about 400 units via the serial number. Must...
I know there are a number of members here who, for a fee, will drive MV's on long trips versus much higher cost shipping. If the car can make it, I bet similar could be arranged for a non-MV drive.
A local store was having a 102nd anniversary sale, so I finally purchased enough flares and filled the empty space in these ammo cans. I fit six 15 minute flares in each can (along with the two collapsible cones). Two cans are in my deuce and one each are in my two civilian trucks.
The front shackle pins have a thin plate tack welded to their head. From that plate a short chain runs to the clip. This keeps the shackle pin and its clip together and certainly helps reduce the chances of losing either, but mostly from losing the pin's safety clip.
I would like to do the...
