    GMC Air pak database

You're kinda new around here so welcome aboard. Sending Davyboysmith a Private Message PM is a great start. If you're navigating the site for the first time and can't find something, let us know. The peanut gallery will be screaming for pictures and I am tracking vin/ serial numbers / unit...

    Starting CCKW Rebuild......Finally

Those parts look identical to the G749/ M135 seats. There's even a little fold up tab hanging there to lock the troop seats in the up position. I can't say I looked close enough at the CCKW seats but I will now. Maybe they didn't change much. The ones in the pic below are from the G749, 50's...

    M5 High speed Tractor

Is this the correct engine? .......... Continental R6572; 6 cylinder, 4 cycle, in-line gasoline ......... If that's the correct engine I can sniff around up North. http://afvdb.50megs.com/usa/hstm5.html Wondered if the 302 and hydromatic might fit as a substitute? There appears to be an...

    Engine swap

You're kinda new around here so welcome to the adventure. We do these long 80 mile parade runs and a cummins M37, with a bed in the back would be a great platform. Get er' done. There's one up north here that was done so well it looked factory. I'll look for my pictures. That "Cummins M37"...

    303M HydraMatic rebuild

While we're on the topic of new things in packages, you fellas were talking about some double seal style type seals. Anticipating that someone, sometime in the future will re-store....or in many case, re-re-store one of these old deuces, we should keep our eyes open for the other perishable...

    M246 Revival

The index in these books must have made sense to someone. Found an outrigger photo which looks close so hope we have something.

    M246 Revival

Not sure if we have a match but I grabbed a bunch of photos from a few manuals. The Canadian pages are half French and not organized where all the crane info is in one spot. Some reference an M543, some reference the M818 but I saw some 246 info as the sun set. I dragged the books out of the...

    303M HydraMatic rebuild

After 100 years of family farming, research and weather record keeping, I have no idea. In 2018 we were still on the ice mid April. Usually ........frozen roads go away by April. It might snow into May but the pavement gets warm enough it's better than the 7 months of ice road trucking...

    303M HydraMatic rebuild

........and the other reason is the holiday time North of the border. What is the role of that "throttle valve lever"? Back in the day a fella at Reno Excavating was showing how something could get hung up. I recall some 2" ish long lever that was close to 3 round things with a role pin that...

    M246 Revival

Did a little search on "Austin Western Company Crane" ......then hit 'images' .....and found one with some similarities. https://www.thejumpingfrog.com/product/2316187/Austin-Western-Model-110-Hydraulic-Crane-sell-sheet-specs-ca-1960 There was also a military reference so there is data out...

    M923A1 body removal

Hey you're new around here and in a warm place. Welcome aboard and any chance you get to send warm pictures, it's always appreciated. My nieces good friend, Amy, moved there from Canada a decade ago....say hi to her for me. How much does that box weigh? We've done 'clean' removals and...

    M246 Revival

How do the serial numbers work? I see 246 a bunch of zeros and a 4. Is that the 4th truck off the line? I can't get to the TM library for a few weeks but will check for outrigger info. If other TM requests come up let me know. We found more manuals for 5 tons in a wrecking yard and need to...

CUCV early Glow Plug burn out - What is the cause?

I battled with a similar problem in the 1010 then some SuperDave guy replaced an $8.00 relay under the hood that made the glow plugs glow again. Mostly parked indoors, we did have a few cold starts at altitude. Once things are volted and working correctly, cold starts should never be a problem.

First time I'd seen a switch in that spot. Does that look like an after market thingy and what in this world of MV lingo is a ground lift night switch? 👈

So far we're finding the CDN trucks had upgrades from factory and 1 3/8" wheel cylinder was standard. I say 'so far' because we never say never and might find 1 1/4" in a CDN truck one day. It appears, most likely, possibly, many American G749 threads report 1 1/4" wheel cylinders so it could...

The frame number and the first four digits are most certainly 1207 and you're sitting on some history....slide bar hood and all. That bell says communication shack, Kratz, Light A-A anti-aircraft truck, or maybe the dentist. Most pics compliments from DM and the boys at CMV. We can just see...

    It followed me home. Honest...

Your M207 would like to identify as an M211 lol? I think the reason we say the M207 CDN is more rare than the M211 CDN is only because we haven't seen many M207's remaining. The 207 were cab and chassis / dual, so likely more versatile in the after market auction houses of Crown Assets. We...

    It followed me home. Honest...

That's an early one. With the April 30 1954 M207 being 3002 and the start of production in 1952 it's around 107.21 trucks per month. That puts your truck at 13.63 months so close to a January 1953 Delivery Date and not a 1952. Looking at the hood I don't see the slot in the back/side to fit the...

    It followed me home. Honest...

So sweet. and fairly complete. Another one for the CDN G749 database if I ever finish the CDN G749 database. I've seen many more M211's than the CDN version M207 cab and chassis so let's hope you have the more rare 7....than the 11. Can you confirm from either the data plate or that stamp...

    New to me 8x8

I looked at the glass and figured that's still pretty good so I support a complete rebuild. 28,000 kg is a much smaller number than 61,729 pounds but who doesn't like a big truck? Did a quick sweep for parts and although one site claims North America support for Tatra, support and service is...
