Message me for the actual address if you are planning to show up. It's at my place, so I'd rather not just post the address in public.
Last year didn't have a lot of people at it, but it was a different weekend and different location, so not too surprised.
This year will do the same location...
Manuals are too big to upload here, so here are links to the newest versions of the ECV/REV manuals that I know of.
I didn't see the 20 level manuals for ECV/REV in the TM section already. These are the 2009 revision.
-24P parts...
Copied and pasted from our facebook group.
Time to start planning for the 2024 rally in the PNW
Location is changing this year from Winlock to McCleary, WA.
Dates are changing from the third weekend in July, to the second weekend in July.
I put down event starts on Thursday, but that's mostly...
So I posted this over in the HMMWV page in the " What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately " thread, but it's probably more fitting for it to be in here as it's radio related equipment.
I wanted to be able to use a GMRS radio in the HMMWV while moving, as I do off road driving and sometimes...
So looks like someone was ejected from the vehicle and then the truck caused an accident. News article doesn't go into details, but a secondhand account posted on facecrook about what really happened is posted below
News article that was linked about it
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knox...
So my pitman arm has a lot of movement on the steering box. Probably about half an inch of up and down (maybe a little more) at the center link.
The nut was a little loose holding it on, so I tightened it down to spec (185 ft lbs according to the manual)
That didn't really seem to change...
So I've kind of beaten up the bottom edge of the truck. Just because you can make it through the jeep trails doesn't mean you won't take a few hits from it.
Anyway, I decided I wanted some protection for the edge.
Talked to a friend who's business orders steel for their own needs, and he...
So my M1123 had the MAK added to it, then stripped off before sale. It will has the heavy springs under it from the kit.
The question I have is do the changes they made for the MAK affect it's max load rating.
I was looking up the kit, and the 4 door version could weigh 3800 lbs. Truck only...
Not specifically a military vehicle event, but I've been talking in out local group, and sounds like we'll have at least a few of our rigs at the event, so thought I'd share here, and if there is interest we can increase the size of our military encampment.
I know I'll be there with my HMMWV...
So a few months back I got a call from a buddy that they needed a HMMWV for a couple scenes in a movie.
As far as I can tell, it was basically just a background prop, with one short action scene of the truck pulling up fast and skidding to a halt.
For as little time as it's in the movie, I was...
So originally I was considering putting a winch on a plate to go into a 2" receiver. A buddy here gave me a milemarker winch plate, so I ended up mounting the winch that way instead.
Before that happened though, I was also given a slave cable and a couple of the old slave cable 2 pin ends that...
EDIT: I'm doing this mostly because I haven't seen much of anything about doing this type winch with the milemarker plate. Most of what I read basically stated that you either need the A2 plate and the extensions to do an electric winch, or other stuff like that. Figured I'd document what I...
When I first got the truck(m1123, 200 amp generator) the stud on the exhaust that holds the rear generator bracket was sheared, and a couple of the front bolts were loose.
It started making noise again, so I checked, and the exhaust stud is sheared again, and at least one of the front bracket...
So I just opened a recent order of RAPCO paint for using as touch up paint, and the cans in it were NOT Gillespie. A company called "Custom Paint USA" is on the label.
different volume, different propellent blend. No idea what type of paint it actually is. My main concern is that it might be...
So the conversations function on this site isn't very friendly to posting pics, and I'm going to just do it here instead because someone else might have a similar question about them.
The question had to do with DRASH trailers and fuel tank.
The model in question comes up in the HDT GLOBAL...
So I bid on and won a tent at auction labeled only as "extendable modular tent" on govplanet last week. Turns out it's not likely to be military surplus, but thought I'd share it here anyway.
Thought from the size it might be a small DRASH or Base-X but nope, neither of those. Turns out to be...
So as some of you know, I had the bolt holding the brake caliper bracket back out of the differential and come into contact with the ends of the halfshaft bolts sticking through the rotor.
Since I was down there anyway, I decided to take care of the oil leak I saw on that side of the...
So everyone complains about how stiff these springs are, and with an empty truck I'll agree they are pretty stiff.
I'm sort of having the opposite issue right now, my rear end is sagging compared to the front due to the amount of weight I have in it. With the BEOD (Body, Explosive Ordnance...
So just putting this information out there in case anyone else needs it.
My truck is an M1123 with the 6.5 engine and serpentine belt setup. It has the Sanden compressor for the RedDot aircon in it. That part is probably important, as the belt length does not match what the manual says it...
