I just logged on, and for the second time, I had to stop tapatalk from installing itself. I am hounded constantly to "open using tapatalk/chrome?" Is there a way to block this from happening? It's gotten frustrating.
Thanks.
I'm not a painter, but I'm assuming that the issue is, 1 the flex will cause paint to crack and flake. And 2 the type of metal won't allow adhesion. If it were me, I would try either a bed liner, or a long shrink sleeve. Just sharing ideas.
In case you need it, here is a good write up on how to install it. Takes a small amount of fabrication. I followed these instructions, it was quick and easy and it works great.

I actually just looked in my search history and found it. If you google "Delco 21si alternator", it brings up a list of different makers. I bought my on Amazon, made by East Lake Marine Electric. They list one for $119 that I believe is the same one I have. I will double check this evening.
Welcome to Steel Soldiers! It sounds like you're off to a great start. As ToddJK mentioned, we are a photo-hungry group. I look forward to reading about your progress.
I totally agree with removing the box. Who would want something leaky on a Deuce? 😂 I found these Sterelite brand storage totes that fit pretty nicely under the troop seats and between the braces.
I used some bungee cords to stop them from sliding. They are working well so far. I've had them...
Thanks, Tim!
I downloaded the TM. Looks clear as mud 😂. I will study up, and probably give er a go one day soon. Too many projects, never enough time...
Nice work! I love that camo pattern. My Deuce is faded OD green. I've thought about changing it to camo, but I have no idea of how to create a pattern. I've seen some really bad "shade tree" camo jobs and I don't want that on my truck. Glad to hear another good review of Rapco.
I'm sorry to hear of Frank's passing. Thank you, @simp5782 for sharing the info. I noticed the "Joke of the day" has been sort of quiet for some time.
I didn't get to meet Frank, but I could tell from his posts that he was a good soul. When he mentioned his frog buddy, Melvin, he always seemed...
On the subject of fire extinguishers, it might have already been mentioned, but periodically you should take your extinguisher out, turn it upside down, and shake it really well. The powder inside will settle and clump up. I shake mine monthly on the first. Probably overkill, but it's easy to...
I've never seen one. I was aware that they exist. That one looks to be in excellent shape. Are all of the tools functional? Do you use it as a shop? Thanks for sharing!
Glad you were able to get the fire put out. Mine was dripping before I removed it. I can tolerate a small oil leak, but leaking fuel is no good. Living in the south, I doubt it will ever get cold enough to need the flame heater anyway. My truck starts the same at 30 degrees as it does at 80...
