2” hitch on A1R extension pintle

Option 4? Remove pintle and make a replacement with 2” receiver Since I’m converting this truck to a camper. I keep trying to think of a situation where I’d use the pintle.

2” hitch on A1R extension pintle

hi folks. I read this thread, but it diverged into image file size. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/lmtv-hitch-extension-kit-installed.194937/ Has anyone solved the 2” receiver hitch onto the extendable hitch problem? @Third From Texas did you come up with a suitable solution? I had the...

    LMTV Frame twist

The wripling on the panels in this picture is my concern. Not sure whats going on here, but the seams look like they are separating... I like the idea of composite for the clean panels, but don't want the added 'torsion' frame. for many of the reasons stated in this thread. height, torsion...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

That’s a wrap. Speedometer set. CTIS over speed value set (which included a fun side project) Ride quality is beyond impressive. And super quiet. Now I need to find a place for this crate.

@Ronmar Amazing!!! fresh brain... went out this morning.. pulled the dash open and found j913. it was as you suspected... no jumper at all. my only guess is that it bounced its way out and is somewhere behind the dash? I toned everything, leg by leg back to and through the cb40, back to the...

made a bit more progress. tried chasing j111-e towards CB40... didn't make it. after i cleared a bunch of room in the bundle. I was able to find j111-e traverses the cab bundle. looks like CB40 also traverses the cab. next stop.. open the dash and see whats behind door#2. k52? i couldn't...

I'm sure it's somewhere in the schematics... but got through another troubleshooting step. one of the steps says to check resistance on j112-b and j112-d resistance was not in range (30-80 ohms). The reason I checked here is... I've seen the lights come on on the unit twice. once after i...

Thanks @Ronmar I'm learning.. I don't have a CTIS switch... and can't seem to find a diagram that doesn't have one. So trying to figure out how P111-E gets to CB40.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

The nuts are 1 3/16". The top is captive, so you don't need to hold that . Easiest way is to use a couple extensions from below and hit with your impact gun. Installing on the Drivers side If you have an A1R with the rear bushing. Removing that might be nessesary. Gives you a little extra...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

@IronhorseTX and I got after some cab bushings this weekend. Both our trucks were riding on rubber crumbs... Passenger side.. about 10 minutes. A little more than an hour on the drivers side.. After we figured out the tricks. Definitely helps to have two people, and a 8' pry bar.

Been busy getting a bunch of things in order (brakes, eco hubs, etc.) and finally getting around to troubleshooting CTIS. CTIS has not worked since i got the truck. No lights on the ECU. I followed the ETM (A1R truck) through the troubleshooting steps. Before I go moving wires around... I...

    FMTV 6x6 cage bolts.

I have some. When I bought new canisters they came pre caged. With an extra cage bolt in the holster. I’ve got extras. Shoot me a PM and I can send out Thursday or Friday. Edit: damn Tapatalk pro. Keeps adding crazy emoji code.

Hydraulic pump replacement - deleted the controller

I capped mine in the back. It’s a check valve or something that prevents the air over hydraulic from working when the parking brake is not set. Safety thing. I just traced all the way to the back. Grabbed a plug from Home Depot and decided I’ll mess with the rest. Later. If ever. It’s deleted.

    Brakes.. oh my...

I think i solved the mystery of the front brake wedge. Upon further review... it looks like the fronts use the same wedge assembly as the rears. 24P doesn't mention it. Appendix H hints at it.. Dissaseembly seems to confirm, that it is the same wedge as the rears, just slips into a yoke.

    Brakes.. oh my...

Well....I went 6 for 6 on rusted out wedge springs. The two front wedge assemblies were also rusted and broke while unscrewing the chambers. Unfortunately, The 24P does not list a part number for the front brake wedge assembly. (It is listed as part #5 for the rear, but obviously...
