Oshkosh MK23. About a year ago, the two yellow running lights on the hood quit working on both sides. Multimeter shows no voltage at the pigtail. This was about a month after I replaced them.
A couple days ago, the drivers side taillight quits working entirely, taillight, turn signal, brake...
A local shop replaced the transmission on my 1070. Please take a look at the photos and let me know what you think.
It appears a plug is missing from the flywheel housing and possibly a crossmember was not reinstalled.
Are these critical components? How much hell should I raise?
Starts just fine. On the open road with the pedal to the floor, the tach pegs at 1500 RPM, about 15 MPH (speedometer not working), barely moves down the road. It struggled to get over the small hump that railroad track straddles.
I thought that it's stuck in low gear. The transfer case shifts...
The original relays finally quit so I replaced with the newer model, single box relax setup. We turn battery and master switch to on and dash powers up as usual. Push the start button and one of two things happen:
1. Everything goes dark, like a blown fuse. Cycle the battery disconnect switch...
I took both my 1088A1 and 1078 to my local EmpireCAT for regular PM service. At the time of drop-off, voltmeter in both trucks showed in the green at 28v.
Both trucks came back in the yellow at 24v. I went through the fuses and relays and could not find anything obvious. Sometimes the 1088A1...
This is leaking like a sieve from the rear of the FMTV. It was part of the air brake system, see photos.
What is it, and where can I find a replacement?
Thanks!
My 1088A1 just threw me a curve ball. The air hydraulic pump was bad and I’ve been relying on the hand pump thus far. Today, I swapped out the air hydraulic unit with a “good“ one. During testing, I noticed a substantial leak coming from the top of the hand pump that was not evident in the past...
2003 1078A1
I bought a lemon from GP. I filed my dispute and am going back and forth with them.
If I keep it as is, I’m looking at a possible complete drivetrain replacement; engine, trans and t-case. Other than that, it’s in excellent condition.
I’m on the fence about how to proceed. I’d...
This is one of my “project” rigs.
Why do you suppose they pulled the timing cover off this LMTV? Note the crack…..
I’d like to raise the can, but they took the hydraulic manifold controller as well. I assume I can unbolt the cab latch and use a forklift?
It’s too hot for surprises like this.
This wheel stud for the CTIS system is stripped on the inside.
Should I even bother with a tap?
Any advice is helpful.
No response from start button, same for the remote start switch.
I jumped the auxiliary solenoid and it started right up.
I've looked through older posts and found a lot of info that applies mostly to 1078. My M1088A1 has a the printed circuit PDP and the relay ID's are different.
Can...
