I am thinking of getting one of the M1101 trailers that govplanet sells. The goal would be to modify into an overland camper with kitchen and permanent pop-up tent.
I would appreciate any advice on particular pitfalls to avoid in terms of buying one out of the auction. I am aware the tires...
I assume it mated with some type of HMMWV mounted system. Not TOW missiles.
Anyone have any theories? Was it the TWQ-1 Avenger system?
Pretty cool setup...
I am curious what is the highest serial number HMMWV out there, and what year? The archive threads only seem to go the 330xxx range. I know they go quite a bit past there.
Like the title says. I'd like to find a good, easily sourced alternative to the GAA/G403 stuff I used last time I greased the vehicles. The real thing was quite expensive and is difficult to find.
I'm going to hit all lube points on both trucks but would like something to use in place of GAA...
Came with a set of air compressors that I cannibalized to install in my HMMWV. It was originally part of the "Expedient Refueling System". Is this designed to plug into a genset, or a truck? One end has a heavy plug, the other end is positive and negative terminals.
I'm trying to decide...
I'm putting an air system in the M1165 and will be mounting the air storage tank in the vicinity of the rear cross member. I need a tap for 24V to run the auto drain on the tank and the pressure switch relay.
I took a look and can't find anything other than the main harness to the trailer...
Putting in a 24V compressor which will be mounted near the windshield washer tank. Also a storage tank somewhere, location TBD. This will be for airing up after off roading.
Thinking it through I'd like to tap some 24V power within the engine bay. The compressor draws up to 22 - 24 amps at...
Looking to tow my MRZR and I want a military trailer for looks/parades.
I can't seem to find a trailer that fits that is HMMWV-towable. It seems it will not fit in the M1101/1102 series trailers.
MRZR dimensions:
I have a civilian trailer and my HMMWV has a 2" hitch and that works fine...
. . . my dad would drop us off at school in a Hummer that had no windows, no doors and no roof . . .

Anyone using a flexible hose like a Fume-a-Vent for HMMWV startup?
My HMMWV is garaged and when started will make smoke. I can't leave my garage doors open to vent out the garage because of very cold temps in winter. Same issue with working in the garage during the winter, can't leave the...
I can't seem to find much in the archives to help me on these two question.
I am going to be running some high amperage cables from the starter to the front bumper for a Sherpa electric winch installation.
First question, the winch connections are currently covered by a layer of that...
This isn't a hypothetical.
So let's say you were going to buy a parts truck and cannibalize it for hard-to-get spares. Currently I am thinking that I may do just that. And let's say your driving truck is a late model ECV/REV B.
Assuming you didn't have space to store the truck more than...
It's on an auction truck at GP. Never seen this before - what is this for?
