    M1008 - electric setup/glow plugs/loose cable

Hello again, I again encountered the starting issue and made a video of it: Happened yesterday (as the engine was still warm from a 50 km ride) and today after riding 5 km and waiting a bit at the technical control station. Both times I tried 10-15 times, no response. After waiting a little...

    Vehicle documentation of army CUCVs

I was at the RDW as well and they said the number was already on it. Besides, there is no RWD mark right of the number. Nevertheless the stamped in number equals the one on the B pillar ID tag and on the dashboard. For the RDW everything was obviously fine in 2000 when the car was registered...

    Little oil drops...

I guess I will replace those seals then, but doesn’t seem to be urgently if I see it correctly.

    Little oil drops...

Hey folks, my CUCV is loosing oil. Very, very little, but I guess its not supposed to be like this. We are speaking of 5-10 drops per day. I found the hole where it comes out (don't even know why there is a hole). When I wipe it off, there is even no oil comming afterwards, as it is very, very...

    Vehicle documentation of army CUCVs

Hey folks, the Belgian technical clearance station refused to check my M1008 as they say the chassis number is not well made (I can clearly identify it and also the Dutch technical service clearly identified it as it was registered there initially after is was bought from the army in 2000)...

    M1008 - electric setup/glow plugs/loose cable

What’s wrong with those cables? Other question: as may battery setup is a 12V one, mustn’t my starter then be a 12 V one, too? Any way to definitely find that out? Today the truck started up at the first time perfectly. All seems to work good, except the not working voltmeter and the fuel...

    M1008 - electric setup/glow plugs/loose cable

The battery is online. I meant when I turn the key one step all the lights which are supposed to go on are functioning well. After a while the glow plug lights (or however they are called) go off and I turn the key further for starting. The truck is not my primary car, so I can work on it, no...

    M1008 - electric setup/glow plugs/loose cable

How can I definitivly say that? At least I know that I have 2 alternators. I am not very much into those technical things, yet but I already feel a steep learning curve. I would not mind going back, but when the current systems works fine I probably would not change it necessarily.

    M1008 - electric setup/glow plugs/loose cable

It is not turning over at all, it behaves as if the battery is too weak. Despite that, the third attempt is without any issues - perfect turnover and firing. Thanks fore the loose wire tip, I’ll attach it this weekend.

    M1008 - electric setup/glow plugs/loose cable

Hey folks, being a new 1985 Chevy M1008 owner since Sunday, I got some initial questions. I am not a mechanic but willing to learn. I also got the TMs but haven'T got through them, yet. I've structured my post a bit so that you can respond easier. Topic 1 - voltage/battery battery setup...

    New guy from Germany

Hey folks, I am Max from Germany, living across the border in Belgium. I recently bought a Chevy M1008 CUCV from 1985. As the M1008-community over here is not too large I thought is was a good idea to register here as well. Already got all relevant TMs and started reading them. The more I will...
