What did you do to your deuce this week?

This is good to know! Would have saved me a day for a 1/2” and save me a couple hundred $$. The bolts that came with the hitch are 10.9 25/32 and about 2” in length. Just did a bit of reading and see that 10.9 are grade 8 but metric? Bolts look a bit over kill but heavy duty for sure. I’ll be...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Don’t mind this assistance at all! Wish I knew it prior to starting. Holes were to be 25/32 but had nothing in the local hardware stores larger than 3/4 so I got a Milwaukee hard metal step bit. Worked great on 3 holes then was more dull than a polished rock. Went and purchased another for the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Two straight days of drilling into this kryptonite. And hundreds of dollars of drill bits later. Got the hitch mounted. Probably the most frustrating job I have done yet. Never swore so much in my life…

Update: Shift linkage was wayyyy off. Have everything dialed in and she works! Gear shift feels better than ever…nice and tight! Good to go!

    M35A3 Neutral Safety Switch?

Update: replaced neutral switch. She fired right up. After all the research prior to purchasing an M35A3 I never knew these to fail. However, I still don’t have reverse. Now I need to read how to adjust the shift linkage.

Should this switch wiggle inside the housing?

Believe it to be the stoplight switch. Book says to refer to figure 61 item 6…we’ll figure 61 only goes to item 5…… Well if is the stoplight switch should it be wiggling inside its housing? I can spin it freely left and right.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Two tires on! 4 to go. Got it down to a 2 day turn around. Longest part is cleaning the rim really well and painting. I need to invest in an air ratchet. Doing this all by hand and a 6 foot breaker bar with 1” drive.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I have not had an issue putting the tire on or off yet. I just walk the tire back and forth at an angle until it lines up with the studs and then put the nuts on I raise or lower the bottle jack until they line up perfect. The hard part are those darn hutchens run flat tubes! Getting them out of...

    M35A3 Neutral Safety Switch?

Update: Disconnected the neutral safety switch and attached an ohmmeter to it. I received the infamous (to me) OL so it is open in gear. Replaced connection and ran through each gear...OL. However, it is interesting, when unplugging the two connections, one of the crimps just fell right out, was...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thank you. A lot of blood sweat and swears went into this machine to get her looking like this especially removing and mounting a tire by yourself. I was thinking the same about the seats and did a lot of searching. Decided to go with a high quality marine vinyl that is durable and water...

    M35A3 Neutral Safety Switch?

Perfect! That’s it. Thanks for this can’t say I’ve seen this page before. I just downloaded the Allison manual to start my search there. When I crawled under to check the linkage I did see those two wires. They went through the linkage bracket. Looks like a pain to work on. Now I wonder if I...

    M35A3 Neutral Safety Switch?

Thanks HDN, I do have all the TMs in a nice organized binder with tabs for every issue and went through it all and all the searching on the forums prior to posting. Contact unit maintenance in my next step.... Truck is always in N when starting or stopping. Tested the starter switch, relay and...

    M35A3 Neutral Safety Switch?

Not seeing such a thing on the TM's under Figure 80 and 81. However, TNJ and Osh have it listed: SWITCH,SAFETY,NEUTRAL TRANS M923/A1/A2 M35A3. Does the A3 have a safety switch? Reason I am asking, turned the truck on this am, tried making a 30 point turn around a 5th wheel trailer in the...

    Parking brake light indicator

Spent a few hours today looking at the lever and switch. Can’t install backwards, upside down. Reversed, no special bar to place in between. All makes mechanical sense. Lever pushes the bar up and pushes the button in. Only thing not making sense is why the light is turning off with the button...

    Parking brake light indicator

Unfortunately, I can't remember what the truck did prior to me replacing. I did just purchased her a few weeks ago. When pressing the brake pedal, nothing changes. I found the old switch. Took my multimeter to it and the new switch. Both switches act the same. They complete the circuit only when...

    Parking brake light indicator

Affirm. That's the switch. P/N: 11669094-1 purchased from Eastern. I am stumped then. I have to keep digging to find my old switch and see what the differences are if any...this replacement almost looks fool proof...hold my beer

    Parking brake light indicator

Appreciate the help HDN! Direct swapped the new sensor with the old: one plug into power that ran under truck and ground to bolt near brake. This morning, I unbolted the sensor and turned the truck on. I pressed the pressure plate to complete the circuit with the button and the light...

    Parking brake light indicator

‘95 M35A3 - Just replaced my parking brake switch. By no means a cheap part... however, the light comes on when I release the lever to the down postion. Seems counterintuitive to have the brake light on when released and off when engaged. I cannot remember what it did prior to me replacing. Can...
