    2011 M1167 Project

My turret is surprisingly well sealed. I get way more water from the top of the slant back hatch than anywhere else.

Why put in a turret cap, when you can put in a turret?

The Humvee takes off on its own like if someone flipped the "After Burner" switch.

I beleive there is a switch on the accelerator pedal that is activated when the pedal goes "to the floor" and downshifts....maybe that switch is activiating early?

Using a REV B parts truck for an ECV

What is a REV B truck? REV stands for "Reliability Enhanced Vehicle" its not a "revision". Anything can be swapped from one generation humvee to another, if you replace enough parts. But personally I don't think are big advantages moving from an ECV to a REV. I agree with the previous poster...

PETLAS Has anyone tried these tires?

I've had really good results using the generic tire plug kits that look like this: I've probably patched two dozen tires with these throughout my life, and I've never ever had a patch leak even after tens of thousands of miles.

    Battery charging question

Here is the inlet The toggle switch is for my block heater. I purchased an inlet that is also a Y splitter, so powers the charger and block heater.

    Battery charging question

You dont need to remove anything, its designed to work with two 12v batteries wired in series or parellel. This has been confirmed by the manufacturer. I leave mine hooked up at all times, and installed the NOCO inlet port on the front of the battery box.

    Battery charging question

Thats the exact charger I use, and used on my previous humvee. No issues so far.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Its a Motorola XPR4550, UHF low split so it can do HAM, GMRS, and commercial. Its also hooked up to my intercom system on the receive side. Still need to hook up the intercom for transmit though (hence the mic).

I took the advice here and moved the backup camera: Also finished the install with the monitor and everything. Its hooked up to the TCM power feed wire, so turns on and off with the start switch. It stays on full time when running (I dont want to need to be in reverse to use it).

Hmm, thats not a bad idea. So basically the top bolt of the same bracket? I guess I was worried that the tire would block it. I'll have to try that.

If you are still conscious, that is the recommended course of action.

Fyi, the factory roof pads are designed with fire resistance in mind. You dont want molten plastic raining on your head if theres a fire.

Sound deadening, sound proofing - which have you done and what are your results?

No issues with the horse stall mats because its not that tight of a fit, the water finds its way around it and out the drain holes.

They are factory roof pads, got them from Mac Motors. They are some sort of fabric covered foam.
