I’m not an expert about all the details needed to make a selectable locker, but couldn’t a good machine shop take an existing ARB of approximately the same size and modify it to work in an LMTV?
Ok, so here’s my crazy idea:
I’ve been struggling with the idea of using my LMTV for multiple uses. Camping, hauling, towing, dumping, etc.
The thought occurred to me this morning, of installing some kind of “Roll Off” mechanism like garbage dumpster trucks have. It would hydraulically tilt up...
I’ve had some experiences years ago with older Deuces and 5-Tons and had a few M715’s, but just recently have been looking at the LMTV’s, particularly an M1078 w/winch.
I just recently retired and think this would be a great project to have.
So this is all new to me.
My questions today are...
I'm equally as excited about the new brush guard I got from you. That is a great thing about trading. Sometimes both parties can go away thinking they got a great deal. I think it's going to add a lot of class to my J10-M715 project.
That's interesting. I got my first M715 from my uncle who had owned it since the mid 70's and used it in the family Housemoving business of which I was employeed. Later in life after he retired and sold the business, the new owner didn't want the M715 so it sat in the back of his garage until...
Speaking of the CJ-6, How about I stop by this Saturday morning and drop off the wheels for it? Don't worry about any finish fab work on the brush guard. If you can precut the connecting straps, I can do the final bending, fittiing and fastening when I get it back to the shop.
Fisherman,
I hope you work out a good final deal for your M715.
Fishing with the family in your new future truck will be good.
As you can see, my post count isn't very high either. I do lurk once in awhile when there are M715 posts here, but it hasn't been that often.
