It was the check valves. Having fuel pressure at the valve on the driver side wheel well is NOT a good indication of whether or not the check valves are restricting flow. Runs great now 👍
I don’t remember the check valves. How do I do that? I did monitor the out flow of the new injection pump by putting a fuel line into a bucket and it had a slow steady flow while the motor is running.
ok so after replacing the lift pump twice (correctly) new injectors, fuel line, drained the tank and put new fuel, new glow plugs, and a brand new injection pump from the hummer parts guy I’m still having the same issue. It runs for 60 seconds surges and dies. Please help
Most of the fittings from the back of the IP leak, so diesel just sits in the valley and where the injection lines connect to the injectors also leak number eight cylinder I had to tighten more than I wanted to to get it to stop leaking.
Copy that. I have, I’m getting good flow from the lift pump 👍. I’m starting to think more and more that this is a timing issue since I didn’t know about the witness marks, and just put the pump back on without adjusting it at all. Side question, would you recommend using thread tape on these...
I tried this, and mine will not run at all with them reversed. It will crank forever, but it won’t start. Is this a sign of something because I’m having the same problem, where mine only runs for about a minute, and then surges and dies.
ok. I replace the pump and did it exactly the way you said removed the plate greased the rod everything went back together smooth and I am convinced the new pump is working just fine. But I cannot get this thing to run for more than a minute before it starts to surge and die every time.
I removed the pump and the rod and the pump arm or in great condition, and the pump seems to be working fine. I have fresh fuel. I replace the fuel filter.
